Motor heating

Hello,

My problem: The Motor / electrical system is turning so hot it will shut down.

My system is a Lonex Gearbox with M120 spring, Lonex silver plated wire with Lonex motor connectors, Lonex A1 motor and gatemerf 3.2 mosfet running on a 11.1 15-25C Lipo.

To rule out anny shimming issues I turned the motor outside the gearbox. I wired the lipo with the silverplated wires on to the motor.
The gatemerf is still in between the motor and the lipo. So when pulling the trigger the motor sparks a lot. Also after 6 triggerpulls I can feel the wires heating up.
The motor itself is also heating up.

As I use alll Lonex this has to fit. The wires are low resitence and also The motor is is can take on a 11.1.

The wires arent touching anny thing they don't toch each other so I can pretty much rule out a short as well.

Can you give me a direction to solve this problem

I've seen this exact problem occur consistently when people install shorted motors, and I've seen it with a number of motors, but given the lonex has been known to over-current draw, I would recommend you change motors, or even go back to the stock motor and see what happens.

Also, what is the mah on that lipo pack?

it's quite possible you got a faulty lonex motor, they did have a run of lemons at some point. It's possible a few of them are still circulating in inventory.

Are you using the active breaking feature on the MERF? That tends to heat up the motor quite a bit. If you are using it, try switching it off and see if you notice a difference

Active breaking can't be turned off on the MERF unfortunately, lots of awesome features though

active braking alone isn't nearly enough to put a mosfet into overheat in less than 10 rounds.
Only other times I've seen it this severe were on systema magnum motors that arc'd directly through the end bell of the motor causing serious over current draw

I would also try a different motor... I've had a lot of bad run ins with lonex motors getting stupidly hot.
