Overall impressions are good - materials seem robust and the mechbox shell seems near indestructible, but some critical design flaws cripple its success, namely the over-reinforcement at the front of the mechbox and the use of a 21:1 gearset requiring proprietary bushings.

I can understand why Modify chose this gearset, to prevent premature piston wear due to high-speed setups and to give the illusion of durability at the expense of performance. Also, the drop-in 1-piece gearset means little to no labour involved in assembly and tuning.

However this comes at the expense of rate of fire (and in turn, trigger response) - with a fully charged 11.1v lipo, I was not able to break 20rps with the included 110 spring...
