What's the deal with G&G?
What's the deal with G&G?
I've been in airsoft for about 6 months now and I'm looking at getting a new gun. I've done research on G&G and heard people talking about the brand, and I've heard and found a lot of mixed reviews. Is G&G good? performance wise, durability wise? Do they have a lot of proprietary parts? Do they fit TM or other brand parts? Could someone please enlighten me with their almighty Airsoft wisdom. |

So the thing with G&G is that unlike most airsoft companies the quality of their stuff varies a LOT based on what product line you are buying.
Combat Machine's are their bottom of the line, these are not good, they tend to break easily and tend to be problematic overall. MAX guns are pretty decent, usually metal upper and polymer lower receiver (or vise versa) and I've heard pretty good things about them in general. Top Tech is their top of the line, these guns are solid and compare to many of the good airsoft guns out there, they are full metal and somewhat upgraded already from the factory. Personally I don't really like G&G, if I did buy one it would have to be a top tech. |

What gun are you looking at, for starters? The G&G F2000 (which i own) is great, but is basically proprietary since it's the only F2000 on the market save for the JG model. The Combat Machines are cheap, but being M4 based, seem to be okay for taking new parts, but being TM compatible, I don't know, but I did install a Madbull Ultimate Hop-up unit in mine before I sold it to get my F2000. The G96 bolt action sniper rifle is okay, but tend to has raised seems and mine came with a bent inner barrel. So far they seem of mid-quality to me. Their fine for starters, and if you're a good tech or tinkering, might last longer if cared for, but I'm sure there are better brands in the same price range.

From what I hear they are growing to be one of the largest manufactures of airsoft guns. From what I've been hearing from friends, they are really good at providing spare parts sometime few companies bother to even do.

The "MAX" series doesn't exist in G&G's line up. It's just a Top Tech with a hot spring in it. Period. Check G&G's website, you won't find "MAX" there anywhere.

I got a Top Tech RK103, which am i getting some degree of regret. The stock is long* and i cannot mount my dummy AK bayonet to it (i made a plastic replica of the AK 74 bayonet).
*i am 1.76m (relatively short), and taking aim is somewhat harder than with your normal warsaw-pact standard AK, due to increased distance from eye to rear sight. But the repentance part comes when the LCT AK74 Stock doesn't fit, unless dremmeled the hell out of it, and, flash hider does not budge (i suspect that front sight and flash hider are one piece). Internally i cannot complain, 380ish fps stock and 50 meter pinpoint accuracy out of the box. |

Yeah, I've got a top tech G&G SR-16 that I absolutely swear by and one of the most evil SR-25 builds I've ever done was with a G&G. You get their top end, you get really good stuff.

G&G makes the best Sig out there, nearly identical to the real one, including stamped steel receiver.
