Problem with G&G MP5 MAX AEG

If I press trigger all the way gun does not fire, no winding or anything.
Howerer if I press trigger half way it fires fine. Of course that means if I press trigger too fast, gun does not have time to fire and motor winding stops in the middle of shot.

I shoot about 3K, mostly in semi.

Question:

1. Am I correct that the most probable cause is electric contact degradation.
Changing it should likely fix it.

2. Can I add this simple mosfet unit to make it better? Adding 1. will require soldering anyway.

Thanks.

PS. Yes, I was able to re-assemble V2 gearbox without anyones help.

It's okay Yaric,

All you need is your TM M870 (:

I'm also open too: maybe a little closer too. Looks like a burnt out trigger: can easily take it out and clean it up.

This is exactly the problem. I used M870, and lend MP5 to my friends.... they were not happy about how it performs :-)

Thanks, I'll try to replace trigger. But, I am not ready to give up yet. I am looking for advice first.

I was able to install car alarm with remote starter by myself, without any experience or help, and kind of confident I can try this task also. And it is quite interesting to attempt.

What I am expecting now is simple confirmation that parts are compatible or not, it will save me countless hours searching for specifications and contact seller or manufacturer.

In case I fail, I'll be back and definitely need your help

similar problem

Hi

I'm quite new to the airsoft. I have a MP5 SD6. Problem is my friend was trying my gun and was hessitant to fire, so he was easing pulling the trigger. Then as he eased in, I can sort of hear the gun firing, but didn't, even if he pulled all the way. After that, I can't sem to get the gun to fire anymore even if I pull the trigger. It's a new gun I just got a few days over a month ago. Please help?

First issue sounds like dirty contacts, open the mechbox, clean the contacts. What size of battery are you using?

jcquantum, if the gun makes a clicking noise when you pull the trigger, the likely problem is the cycle stopped with the piston almost all the way back and you're battery isn't providing enough wattage to continue the cycle, either from it being too small or not charged. What size of battery do you have?

My battery is a 8.7 Vault. I don't hear any clicking noise nor do I hear any noise at all. That's the strange thing. I charged the battery full, I even took a battery from another gun just to see if it jolts the mechbox, but no joy there. Any other suggestions Thunder Cactus?

motor connectors may have come off
connection might be loose in your gun
trigger contacts might be pooched if you have an 8.4v large, but unlikely if it's a mini battery

Yaric: Just to add something to check, if you press too much, maybe the trigger is disengaging, as if the trolley is not pushed anymore by the trigger and reset to the starting position? Just like the cutoff lever would do, but before the cycle is done. Just giving you an option to look at if the contacts are not the problem. Replacing the trigger would solve this problem, and the contacts one.

I'm suggesting this, because I've got the same thing in a v3 box, and fixed it by adding just a dab of material with epoxy. On v2, the problem may not even be possible.

First, I'd suggest yourself to get a new thread next time, as to not hijack the original problem. However, since we started here, we'll continue here.

Second, if another battery isn't working, it means two things. 1. The gearbox is either locked in mid cycle, and the motor/battery is too weak to pull it. We'd need you to try YOUR battery on another AEG, and we need the specifications of the battery you borrowed, because the second battery may be too weak too. Or 2. The gearbox being locked, the motor is forcing a lot and the default fuse, if there is one, burned from the additional load, which may explain why the borrowed battery didn't work. Try to reset the gearbox using a big battery like a 11.1v LiPo, or by releasing the anti-reversal latch (the little part that prevents the gearbox from going reverse).

Also, what he said ^

Obviously, we're just throwing ideas, and can't find the exact problem without actually handling the gun.

if the piston was locked back, you'd hear the motor clicking

I was thinking about a burnt fuse, since the motor was forcing a lot. But then I thought if there was enough amps to burn the fuse, there probably was enough amps to turn the motor, so my point is null.

Thanks for the suggestions. I called the shop I got it from and I'm glad they would repair it under warranty. But they did ask me to look at the fuse and the fuse seems to be ok. There was no burnt smell in the gun or scorch marks on the lining. i checked the connectors as well to the motor (located in the grip) and that looked fine. I suspected the half cocked gear box, but my problem was also not having the right tool head to open the gun itself. The shop suggested that it is for sure an electrical problem as I don't even hear a clicking noise. I used a 9.6V battery from the other gun but it still wasn't reacting at all so.... I guess I'm lucky that all I need to pay or is shipping it back for repairs?

I do have a side question. With a same gun, can it be outfitted with a gearbox 3 from the original gearbox 2?

Sorry for hijacking the topic as that wasn't my intent. I only thought it was a similar problem. In fact, when i googled it, that's how I was led here.

If you're asking if you can put a v3 gearbox into a v2 gun.... No you can't
