(HELP) M14 EBR buffer rod broken
My Cyma m14 ebr's Stock broke off when i slipped on ice and now it's just dangling there by the battery cables. It broke at the buffer rod and I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix/replace the piece(s).
I dont even know if there are parts for this gun that I could get off a website. Also first time posting. Heres a few pictures: Last edited by Mathpoit; January 7th, 2014 at 17:28.. Reason: correction: no return option. |

Is it an AEG buffer tube or a GBB buffer tube?
Is there a screw that goes through the middle? If the castle nut can come off, you MIGHT be able to replace it with a GBB buffer tube. |

Its an AEG, and it looks like the castle nut broke off with the stock, but I wouldn't know how to identify it because I'm too new at this. Just double checked and there's a screw attached to what broke off, and its in the stock.

Metal or Plastic?
quick fix is JB weld if its Metal(not cast) guerilla glue if its plastic. Are you able too post better pictures of the stock? If its the 5 point adj M4 style stock, I don't see why you cant just replace it, Unless the break is on the body of the EBR.

The castle nut is still on the receiver end.

Its supposed to be metal, but by the break it's got to be cheaper. The break is closer to the guard, and I have had no luck finding an m14 ebr stock online.
No I live in the Kingston area. I'll post better pictures as soon as I have time and proper lighting. thanks for the replies. |

You can see the screw and end plate in the buffer tube. Looks like the adapter that let's you mount a buffer tube to the sage chassis is broken. Need new one or fix existing.

A client just dropped off their CYMA EBR.
Looks like you're shit out of luck. You need a new receiver. Don't even waste your time trying to epoxy/JB-weld/superglue it. It's a load-bearing part and will fail you very quickly. |

From your pictures, there seems to be an extension screwed to the rear of the mechbox.
That screw tip you see inside the broken off stock tube is supposed to be tight in there. If it was undone, the stock was just held in there by a stuck tube. The castle nut/what's left of the tube should be removable from the M14. BUT I have not taken that model apart yet and can't confirm that the buffer tube is removable on yours. If you can remove the broken tube from the gun, then any AEG M4 buffer tube will work. From the looks of it, it was a "lipo" type, with the flage for the locking washer close to the end. You will also need to remove the screw and washer from the broken part, from the other end. you can remove the actual stock from the tube by pulling the lever instead of pressing it. It will move out further and let you go over the last notch (extended). |

The big question is can the castle nut (pic4, thing with four notches) and the threaded section be unscrewed from the body.
If so it should be a pretty minor fix. Stealth is saying no though. So it looks like you are in for a painful and expensive process. It might be easier to scrap that gun and start fresh.

if he was in toronto i would offer my help.
looks like the castle nut is one piece with the back of the receiver. which can be a good thing. i do have a small desktop mill that can remove the broken section. i also have the AR15 lower receiver buffer tap 1" 3/16 -16tpi. so, i could technically tap that section above the pistol grip and you can get a RS buffer tube on there.

I have a few friends saying to just JB weld it with a piece inside to strengthen it, thoughts?
Also I have no idea how to proceed with this so I'm considering all my options. |
