Grip tape
Quick question about grip tape. I'm looking to add a little bit more texture and grip to my WE M&P but I'm not sure what sort of tape works best so I thought I'd ask around here before dropping by the local skate/hardware shop.
I've read skate tape works well but I've also seen people recommend bath tub anti slip tape, stairs grip tape, etc. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of stuff? I'm looking for something that would be easy to remove and replace if and when it wears out so I'm looking for something that's not super tacky/difficult to remove/permanent. Hope this doesn't come off as a stupid question lol. Thanks!

Hi,
I've used this tape: http://www.mcnett.com/tactical/camoform#19550 It sticks to itself, is removable, reusable (well maybe not after removing it and reapplying it 1000 times), water resistant, stretchy, and good for camouflaging and breaking up the outline of the gun in brush. I wrap my m4 grip and forward rails/silencer in it, (the parts with no attachments). Works quite well for me anyway. I use the skateboard stuff you described on my TM 5.1 hi capa grip, but you will need to wear gloves with that as it is quite abrasive stuff. Hope that helps. |

I just use the sandpaper grip tape they sell at crappy tire. It wears out over time and needs to be replied but I'm still on my first $5 roll and it's been at least 5 years using it on multiple guns.

Or you could be a manly man, use a wood burning/soldering iron and stipple your shizzle.

oh no Zack, don't ruin a wood burner doing this that makes me sad.
Go buy some shitty cheap ass soldering iron, sit down and work away. nice way to catch up on tv shows or movies depending on the area you want to cover. |

lol, I thought about stippling but I like the cleaner look of grip tape vs. stippling. Guess I'll drop by Canadian Tire and grab what they have there.

Grip tape works just fine,(buy mine at princess auto) might be too aggressive of a grip though. Truck bedliner spray is good too. If it's more about the grip than the texture "Plastidip" paint or similar works well and is easy to peel off when you want. You can't tell to look at it that it's there but adds a rubbery grip.
