KWC 1911 MEU - Trigger Problem

Hey Everyone,

This is my first post, as I normally just search around and find what I need. Though I have had an issue with my KWC 1911, and I can't find any info about possible remedies.

Basically the issue is that there is an problem between the back grip safety and the trigger. The grip safety gets firmly stuck and hitting it real hard will release it , which then allows for it to be pushed down. Then when I pull the trigger it will fire, but the trigger gets stuck and does not release. By cylcing the slide, and smacking the grip safety I can sometimes manage to get it to pop back out but it doesn't always work. If it doesn't release I have to take the slide off, remove the magazine and using a flat head screw driver push the trigger back out. Then the whole process repeats if I try and fire it again. Super annoying cause it hasn't given me any problems before.

P.s I have lubed the gun up and it didn't make a different.

Anyways any input would be greatly appreciated. First game of the season is coming up next weekend and it would be a buzz kill not to have a sidearm.

Best,
Mike Trueman

The Fix

Well the no one replied! but I did fix the gun ( Mostly)

I fully disassembled it, took the hand guards off and then removed the main spring housing. This released the rod ( believe it called a hammer sprout, but could be wrong) that connects the hammer to spring and allowed me to remove the plate the connects everything together. Its a 3 pronged piece of metal, that is bent in different ways. One touches the trigger, one touches the primary safety and once connects the grip safety. Let me tell you, this thing is a real b**** to get back in, its super sensitive and has to be placed just right. Be sure to look at it and try and remember how it was in place when you removed it.

Essentially the issue was the prong that connects to the trigger assembly had found its way underneath the trigger and no longer pushed it back out ( fairly simple actually). To fix it I removed it and reset it to the proper place. It was also covered in all kinds of gunk, so a good cleaning is a good idea.

The prong that connected to the primary safety was entirely bent the wrong way, and I had to reset it back into place. It sort of works now, its just not the most reliable safety, and at times if you pull hard enough when the safety is engaged you can get the hammer to drop. The gun wont fire as the slide is blocked but it opens the CO2 value and doesn't shut unless you take the safety off and manual slide the gun. SUPER annoying but at least it stops you from shooting your self in the foot with a BB.

Anyways, to sum it up, the KWC is fairly simple to work on, but I would use caution when buying one. It cost 200 dollars, and for that kinda of money, if you save a little more you could find a good KWA 1911. I searched the web and couldn't find replacements parts for the gun so if that metal prong thing actually breaks then it becomes a 200 dollar paper weight.

Leaf spring - that's the prong thing you were describing
