another ''softair'' 12g bb warning
recently bought another bottle of these little buggers, (just for the bottle) hmmmm...maybe i could use them in my king arms 165rd grenade...nope! the AE bbs i normally use, pop into the shell with perfect consistency. some of the softair bbs fit into the shell easily, some were really tight, some would not fit period. so, yeah, just in case someone out there still thinks ''hey i might try those bbs'' don't do it!!! feed em' to your kids/pets, throw em' around at weddings, just don't try to shoot them out of anything more expensive than a drinkinkg straw. the bottle works well though.

What brand name/colour were they? I've noticed there are more types of .12g BBs out there than before. One of our guys runs 100% .12g BBs in his 165 BB shells on propane, and never has a problem with the ammo. He uses the green Crosman type. Myself and Droc use the red (name escapes me right now) bought from Walmart as low ammo indicators in our GBBs and AEGs (last 2-8 rounds depending on the mag), and all work well in the guns, as well as reducing the dry fire risk from an empty mag.

Ya, I had a really bad batch of .12s too. I got em mainly for the nifty grenade shaped BB bottle, but holy crap, they were so horribly constructed I didn't even consider keeping them. The two hemispheres that made up the BB were off centre by almost a mm in some cases.

i only shoot those through my crappy springers, NOT through my babies (AEG, GBB)

Issue overrated?
I have fired about 15000 of these through my 4 g19 GBB, my p90 and my mp5.
with no problems... I use the CT "softair" "greenies" I consider them to be ideal for the kind of close quarters shooting we are doing. I admit that there is a distinct quality difference between these BBs and other "name brand" BBs .. but I have not suffered any stoppages and I can not find any damage to my weapons as a result of using them. I am certain that there are even poorer quality BBs out there..and if one is to find bottom rung quality ... it would be at Walmart. I think that the issue bears more scrutiny... I don't think that anyone has actualy tested the difference between the performance of these "bargain BBs" and the more expensive "name brands" All of the reports bandied about seem to be opinion, without evidence.

I have run 6,000 lazersoft(yellow) .12g bbs through my gun when it was stock for testing, barrel lube cleaning, and cqb.
And another 6,000 Lazersoft(red) .12b BBs through my gun upgraded to break in the spring, and spray out the silicone after a heavy lube job. No problems, no dammage after 12,000BBs When I get them, I dump them in a pan and move them around, takes about 2min to spot any problem BBs and pick them out. give them a silicone soaking and put them back in a bag and use the container they came in for real airsoft BBs. |

The yellow ones are crosman. I have seen someone put them into an ICS mp5 (no names to be mentioned) even after I told them it was a stupid idea and something would go wrong. Needless to say, some of the the bb's literally blew up in the barrel, shattering bits and pieces all over the inside of the gun. Stay away unless its for a mini or ebb.

Guess Droc has the best advice, dump them all out and check for fuc't ones. I havent found any in my LaserSoft red ones, so all is good so far.
Listen, what I said is about what the max should be, low ammo indicator like real steel SF use 3-4 tracers at the bottom of their mags. Or as Droc said, use them to clear oil off the hop up or barrel. Using them 100% of the time for CQB isn't the best, but hey, if you have no problems, carry on! Just pay attention to what you put into your mag is all I can say. I use AE . 25g BBs all the time in my AEG, and the .12g shoot a lot differently, allowing me to know to head for cover to reload, yet still having some rounds I can knock off in a close range emergency. |

I've suffered stoppages and cloggings on a repeated basis with those CT .12g BBs.
