homemade airsoft that hits HARD

hey guys,

new to this forum, looks real good, happy to become a part of it.

i love anything that shoots, including airsoft, airguns, paintball, etc. i also like making or modifying things myself, in other words i love homemade stuff. some time ago my friend told me that a bicycle pump that he saw in a store reminded him of a spring airsoft pump. recently, i bought one of those dollar store pumps and made it into an airsoft rifle !!!

i took:

- ski pole shaft (any dowel / stick woud work)
- duct tape
- elastics
- archery release (basically a trigger system)
- pump
- piece of old broken arrow (carbon fiber rod of 1/4 inner diameter, its not perfect, but at the same time its all i could find and is close enough - bb is 6mm and this "barrel" is 6.3mm)

and turned it into a rifle, by basically attaching the arrow shaft to the pump, elastics on the pump and all of this to the ski pole after the trigger release.

it may look bad, may be annoying to load (a muzzle loader so far - you have to put the bb into the barrel and wait until it rolls down. i have ideas and materials for a breech though). but it sure works great !!!!

my 220fps spring pistol (actually chronoed) goes through 4 sheets of paper. this baby goes through 16 !!!!! 16 sheets of good paper stacked close to each other !!! it also almost goes through and through a coke can - clean hole in firt side and dents and cracks the other side. i didnt get a chance to chrono it as i finished this gun in the evening and i do not have an indor lighting set up for my chrony, but my guess would be that this homemade $1 dollar worth rifle shoots at 400fps with a .12 CT green BB !!!

range? even though it has no hop up, it has flat trajectory for 25-35 meters when shot out of the window of my house and than the BB starts to fall down.

i am hoping to turn this frankenstein into a nice looking sniper rifle (possibly carv out a wood stock for it). anyone know where i can obtain a 6mm pipe to use as the barrel? i am sure i amloosing a lot of power by using a loose fit barrel.

what u think? will keep you all updated if you want,

Hobby stores carry ~6.2mm brass or steel pipe. 1m lenth for brass, 24cm for steel. Used for airplanes and trains. If you are really serious, go to an industrial fabricator and ask for 6.05 - 6.1 mm piping, expensive but well worth it.

pics of this monster? and are you sure its safe. Make sure the parts won't snap and send shrapnel everywhere. Believe me I've been down that road before...

Enough chit chat, its all talk until we get some pictures.

Thats all I want to see as well. When can we expect too see them? Perhaps even a video of this homemade device firing?

The closest I came to making a new airsoft gun was when i broke my M16A2 springer that's worth like 20 buxx....I chopped it down till it was about the size of my MP5 SD5 lets just say it didn't work out too well...hard to aim and pump...then i shortened it evenmore...until it had no stock and the barrel was around 10 inches or so....I was happy with it and stuff until I dropped it and all my supergluing went to hell.... >.<

Bring it out to a game
Seriously though, sounds very interesting, would love to see some pics and a good step by step guide.

Cheers,
Alex

Why are you guys encouraging someone who tests things by shooting out his window???

What is it these last few months? The forums have become a stupidity contest?
12 year olds want to buy guns, folks shoot things in town or where they can be seen, software hacking is cool again?

Am I the only one who reads?

This thread should be trashed AND locked.

Before we nail him for shooting out the window, we must know where his house is located and what's down range from the window.

I shoot out my windows too, at my chalet deep in the wood.
