Inner Barrel recomendation

Hey Guys,

**introduction**
So after 3 years of lurking the forums and chairsofting, I've finally decided to get off my ass and get AV'd (just waiting to get approved by an admin). I'm planing to purchase a VFC HK416 GBB-R and will probably purchase the important upgrades at the same time.

Given that the hop-up bucking, tensionner, enhanced nozzle and upgraded bolt CG will be upgraded, the inner barrel is next in line. I will be shooting .28-.32 BBS from distances of 150-220ft in mostly semi-auto configuration and am looking for the tightest and most consistent groupings possible.

From my readings online, many argue that:

-Magic Box Miracle barrel is the best all-arounder
-PDI/Prometheus 6.05 Barrel is also one of best all-arounder
-PDI/Prometheus 6.01 Barrel has the best groupings
-PDI/Prometheus 6.08 Barrel is the most accurate at longer ranges

With that said, I am still confused and trying to figure out which barrel is best for my needs. And being a long-time chairsofter, I like to take my time to gather as much info as i can before buying and don't mind paying extra to get the better product.

American airsoft forums are full of bullshit.

Pdi makes a 6.01 for higher fps, a 6.05 for accuracy, and a 6.08 you should probably avoid
Prometheus makes a great 6.03
Dunno if either company makes a gbbr barrel. But ra-tech is the barrel to buy for gbbr.

Barrel length and bore is inconsequential, only barrel QUALITY matters. But tighter bores will lose accuracy due to fouling faster.
Hop rubber is critical to get right, and ra-tech is good too

Forums in general can be full of bullshit.

Miracle barrels are pieces of shit. You aren't paying for a quality barrel, you are paying for a stupid insert in an average brass barrel.

PDI and Prometheus are not the same company.

I am not familiar with VFC GBB barrel compatibility, but make sure you get one that is compatible.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Miracle barrel,

As for PDI and Prommy I know they are two different and separate companies but they seem to offer simillar quality products.

From my I head the PDI 6.05 seems the be the best for my intended purposes, just need to focus on which hop-up rubber and nub I need to get next.

I've heard good things about the Maple-leaf bucking and R-Hop unit...

Any feedback?

R-hop is not a unit, it is something that is done to the barrel. It is the best option available, however it is time consuming to do and is not much better than other high performance hop up setups. It is not noticeably better than the bridge hop setup until you start using stuff heavier than .3. Maple leaf rubbers are good in TM GBB cut barrels and less effective but still okay in AEG barrels, because the internal mound does not maintain it's shape as well. I am not sure what the barrel cut is for the VFC 416 GBB.

Thanks for the heads-up, hop-ups have always been a mistery to me.

From what I've read online, some people say the VFC HK416 uses propietary hop-up rubbers but will accept VSR-10 rubbers as well..

Some have had good experience with the A+ hop rubber, good thing is that it uses AEG inner barrels.

here is a video that shows how to mod the hop-up so that it accepts VSR buckings.
