Best M4
Hey I'm selling my TM M4 because I liked it so much I decided I wanted a high quality, metal M4. I'm leaning towards the Classic Army but have heard good stuff about the ICS as well, especially regarding ease of maintenance. So what is the best M4 out today and why?

G&P, Why? Cause its G&P, Enough said. Do not question this guns stature or performance, it is excellent.

(by the way, how are the internals? a good idea to downgrade the spring? I'm interested in one myself, a WGC custom VN model though) |

it is a good idea to downgrade if u are playing indoor, out door shouldn't be much of a problem, u could also buy a tm velocity reducer, witch is like 20-30 dollars

I'm thinking more about the stress on the long term of the internals than the velocity, as it would really be a hassle for me to get it fixed where I am and I really have no reason to have a gun shooting more than 300fps, but if the internals will take the stock spring without any problem, then I have no reason to have it downgraded as I will not be playing any CQB, or anything other than basement shooting for a couple years:P

g&p uses the best internals. the cylinder, cylinder head, selector plate and tappet are prometheus. the switch is an enclosed (no external contacts) low resistance switch, the gears are machined steel, the gear box is a g&p reinforced 7mm bearing, the spring guide is solid metal with a heavy bearing, the motor is a tokyo eg700, the piston is g&p with their clone of the classic army explosive piston head, the nozzle is stainless with an o-ring for a tight seal on the cylinder head and the spring is usually a pdi 210% if it comes via peter kang but others are floating around out there too. the parts are all first rate but for reliability i would detune it with a m120 spring. it will give you 370 fps instead of 470 fps but super reliable. i have 15000+ rounds on my spr/a with one teardown for inspection of the internals and re-grease. others that i have detuned have way more than that with only the spring change. i would recommend them solely on that, however, sometimes i've found the assembly of the motor end of things a bit of a problem. usually it's just readjusting the motor and wiring positioning inside the grip for proper motor/bevel gear engagement. just a 5 minute job and your good to go. g&g (especially the older ones) are crap. their assembly is the shittiest ive seen and they overlook lots of little things like grease and shimming and fuses. doesn't make for a reliable gun. ics makes a great product but their weak point is their motor. no gun has the maintenance or upgrade ease of the ics and they are just as reliable if not more so than tm and cheaper too.
