KJW G27 Upgrades

Hey all,
I've recently purchased a KJW G27 and totally love the thing. It's more just a collectable for me than anything else. I just did a few upgrades; guarder steel mag release and recoil guide and the trigger safety to the original trigger. Anyway I want to do more mods, just for fun really. The biggest question marks are the frame and slide. It does have a black frame oddly, but I'd still like to get one with the proper trades. (I've just contacted milsig to see if they can get it. I'm not quite brave enough to try to get one in from ehobby) Same for the slide and outer barrel, but so expensive!8O

I have a question about a slide and barrel kit. I've read that it is necessary to upgrade the springs because of the weight. Is this the case? Is it the 150% springs I need to install on the recoil guide?

I think I want to install a light weight nozzle housing and an upgraded trigger lever. I can't seem to find an inner barrel for it. Do they exist for this model?

Can anyone recommend other upgrades? I'm really just looking to pimp it out for fun. Not really trying to gain or adjust anything per se...

(I know I can't get info for purchasing those hard to find parts... just waiting on my AV)

The Kjw Glock 27 usually comes with a potmetal (Zinc/Aluminum) slide. Potmetal is heavier than regular Aluminum unless the Aluminim is combined with other elements to make it a stronger/ heavier material. You do not need to upgrade springs for the guide rod, unless the slide is steel, or hardened Aluminum. Both slides are a great choice, but the Guarder Slide may have some fitment issues. Oh wait, the Guarder slide has an 6061 Aluminum Slide with a steel barrel. I would assume that Guarder made the slide so it can withstand the steel barrel...but note that it is 6061 Aluminum, not 7075 Aluminum. If you need help with slides and barrels, look up the Mohs Hardness Scale for metals.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to order a detonator slide I think. From what I've read here it fits the best. I ordered a few parts including a guarder frame...

Now last night I think I've decided I want a TM G17 with a guarder frame and PGC slide. :|

Well update us if you get your pistol frame, or become labeled as a criminal.

What the hell!?

That Guarder slide kit is $160 !????
That doesn't even deserve a $70 price point....

This doesn't make any sense.
Like...at all.

Yeah the detonator kit is like that too. That's what has turned me off my build a bit. I could almost get a TM G17. I guess I could go for a KJW, but I thought a TM might be the way to go...
