WE Glock 17 Trigger Won't Lock Back After Dry-Fire

Recently picked up a WE Glock 17 (full trades version) and noticed that the trigger won't lock back after dry-firing the gun. Instead it stays forward giving the appearance that it's cocked and ready to fire even though I didn't rack the slide.

Might not be a big issue but the reason why this bothers me is that the triggers on my WE Glock 19 and 23 both lock back after dry-firing and would require the slide to be racked in order for the trigger to move forward into the "cocked" position. However with the 17, the trigger would only stay forward. Is this normal for WE Glock 17 models? Other than that, everything else on the gun seems to be working fine.

Normal for WE. If you want it to stay back its' time for new parts.

Trigger, & maybe trigger bar, and I think that does it. I have 2 that stay back now.

Thanks for the help. Any recommendations on triggers for glocks? I'm a bit new on trigger modifications.

Did it came that way new, or it became like that after using? My WE G17 came like that, but made it work like my other WE glocks by slightly filing a spot in the trigger housing.
I don't have my guns with me so I can't provide a picture, I found that fix by comparing with my other we glocks.

It did come like that brand new which puzzled me when testing the trigger. I wasn't sure whether if something was broken or if it wasn't supposed to lock back at all. On my other Glocks, the triggers lock back but perhaps WE/Hk intended the G17s to be like that.
Guess I'll strip it down and see what I can do and maybe consider trigger upgrades while I'm at it.

When I first got my HK3P G17, it is exactly the same as what you described, but my WE G17 is like my other WE Glocks with the trigger lock back.

My guess is: on some (older?) version of HK3P Glocks, the hammer housing was intended made that way so they don't lock on the back.

The difference is on a spot on the hammer housing, my HK3P G17 has a round edge while my WE G17 has "staggered" edge. There were no sign of wear/damage on the round edge so I would guess it was made that way. On my WE G17, the trigger bar can get caught by the staggered edge to lock the trigger back. I am not sure how many HK3P G17 out there are like mine with rounded edge on that spot, but it sounds like yours is just like mine. Filing that spot to a way similar to the "staggerness" of WE G17 will solve the problem. I doubt replacing/upgrading the trigger will help as the difference is on the hammer housing.

I might have to take apart my Glocks and compare the hammer housings. Could you provide a picture of the housing after you modified it so I have an idea what to look for and what to do? That would help a tones.

I would like to take a picture on that, but I will not be in Canada till the end of december and away from my airsoft guns. (I already started to miss them.) I will take a picture after I get back.
