mags not locking in??

So, I picked up some new Socom Gear Troy M4 mags and they snap in but they do not stay locked in. Almost like they are too skinny or the mag catch is not big enough?
I check and everything looks ok.
Is this normal?
I am using a VFC M4 recon body with a prowin hop up chamber.

Split the receivers and try.

Try a bit of electrical tap. If they lock in and stay there is definitely too much play. If they can be easily pulled out maybe something isn't engaging.

compare the gap between mags that work and these ones while the receivers are split. You can see the interaction of the catch and catch window with the receivers split.

if the socom mag is thinner than the stanag, or if the catch can catch into the window completely. You might be hearing it click as it sort of falls into the window but not enough of it is holding it in properly so if the mag is narrow then any sort of shift in the magwell will move the whole thing away from the catch.

Also didn't I read somewhere before stealth mentioning the VFC mag catches didn't seem to be as catchy as other brands?

So they appear to be looser at the top for some reason even though they appear to be the same thickness as the KA mags.. Electrical tape on the mags or a new mag catch that is slightly longer/deeper?
Stealth? What say you good sir

I have these mags, they do the same thing in my madbull DD receiver.
They seem to be thinner than the stanag mags. and the window on the mag itself is to shallow not letting the catch engage fully.

I just put a few strips of felt/velcro on the inside of the magwell on each side to keep the mag from wobbling around. I have no issues now, they lock in place and don't wobble.

But that being said,it makes inserting mags a bit harder with the extra friction and mags wont just fall when pressing the button.

Alright, it appears that the portion of the mag that engages the mag catch in the magwell just doesnt have enough meat on it. I am going to see what I can do to "add" to it with some epoxy or something. Experiment time
