High Performance AEG Power Efficiency Survey
So I'm curious about amp draw in high speed (40 RPS and up) airsoft guns. I'm trying to make my own builds more power efficient.
No "guesstimations", I want readings from a chronograph and a real wattmetre. If you guys wouldn't mind, I'd like the following info: Performance specs Amp draw: RPS: FPS: -Drivetrain specs Battery: Spring: Gearing: Motor: Bearing use: FET/wiring: Motor tabs or direct solder: Thanks! we have to find a niche for motor draw, what I mean to say is for the sake of efficiency we need a battery the can provide the draw at a given moment and take the abuse on semi spam aswell. Good luck with this study! ill be posting my 54 rps build soon!

So I just did a quick experiment to see what kind of difference using bushings vs bearings made. I've added the result to a previous post. Went from all VFC steel bushings to Modify ceramic bearing bushings with a steel bushing left under the spur gear.
Current draw went down from 26A to 23A, everything else in the gearbox remained the same, I only installed the bearings, and of course I reshimmed it. RoF increased from around 37 RPS before to 45 RPS now. Current draw went down from 26A to 23A, difference of over 10%. I definitely was not expecting this much of an improvement. |
