G&G GR16 Motor Recommendations
Hey there ASC,
I don't frequent this section of the forums often, but I'm hoping someone can recommend a replacement motor for a G&G GR-16 Wasp. The G&G belongs to a buddy of mine who's been having some issues with it for a while now. He's had a couple of techs look at it before deciding to hand it over to me to work on. Now I'm not a big fan of AEG's but I'm proficient enough to open them up and do some basic tech work and maintenance in the gearbox but motors are an area I've never had a need to look into. Anyways, it seems like the motor gets rather hot and the plastic grip seems to have deformed around where it mounts to the gearbox as a result of it. There's also quite a bit of copper dust from the brushes in the grip. From my research, it seems like G&G motors are rather shoddy and most users tend to run into the problems this AEG is experiencing. I've pulled the gearbox and disassembled everything and from what I've seen, the wiring is rather shoddy and heats up significantly from a few short bursts, along w/ the motor and battery. I'm not quite sure about the shimming and motor height but will be checking that out later down the line when I get to cleaning out the crappy factory grease in gearbox and rewiring everything w/ some higher gauge quality stuff. It also seems to burst in semi occasionally, but I haven't been able to replicate that problem, although I'll be looking into the regular culprits when I get to cleaning it out. That said, I'm looking for a motor recommendation, something that's decently priced, can pull the stock G&G spring (no idea what it is frankly), and doesn't noticeably heat up from extended usage. Not really looking to upgrade its performance or anything but its a welcomed consequence of a new motor.

Any stock motor will work just fine. I have a pile of VFC standard ferrite motors you can have, just pay shipping.
