receiver material?

I am in the process of making my own M4 from spare parts. So here is my odd question:
For the receiver, what can I expect to be different between a polymer based reciever vs a metal one? Is one better than the other?

Polymer: lighter weight, cheaper, typically a marui clone.

Metal: heavier, More durability, more $$ depending on the brand, different tolerances depending on the brand as well so some gearboxes do not fit them. Cannot comment on gas systems. Battle scars look nice but some people like it pristine. More options for engravings.
