external hpa shotgun.

ok so on classic airsoft there is an aritcle outlining how to make the maruzen m1100 full stock into taking an external hpa system

link here: http://www.classicairsoft.net/Articles/M1100/index.htm

now my question is will the hpa while properly regulated to not exceed limits cause this gun to be able to shoot more bbs at once or just more consistantly?

what exactly would be the pros and cons of this system?

I think both. You will get more air flow and be more consistency.

There is a video on the website showing them shoot a M1100. I donno if it is the modded one or not, but it fires very well.

Pros are: More shots, more power, can fire more bb's at once, more consistent.
Cons are: Too much input pressure and it might break something. You have a line running from your gun to a regulator and airtank on your webbing or somewhere's. That may be a con if you try to hand your gun to someone under fire.

I think Madmax did something of this nature at one point.link

Picture links fixed.

It's an 870 not the M1100 though. I note that the internals of the M1100 may not handle higher pressure very well. I have accumulated 3 scrap M1100s for spare parts and note that they all failed before upgrading at the same place. The plastic bolt assembly is not very robust.

Update:

At present, the shell loading mechanism on this 870 is fubar. It's always been bad though. It misfeeds on one every 15 or so shells which is pretty lame. The misfeed is not easily fixed in battle. To make things worse, bbs sometimes fall out of the shells during the loading process. When this happens, they wander around the insides of the gun and sometimes jam things which brings the field jams to be even more frequent.

As fun as it is to eject shells, it's just not battle practical. I've taken things apart yet again to make this shotty mag loaded. I have plans to load 10bbs per pump from a G3 mag once I get some spare time to get back into airsoft hackery.

aah memories. At one point I noted stress cracks spreading across the pot metal valve body. I had to rebuild the valve body. While I was at it, I mounted a RDS and a proper shell bag.
