Version two gearbox upgrading
I have a tm M4A1. Got prometheous bearings, ms100 spring, and a systema spring guide with bearings. I am wondering if any of you have the same or similar upgrade's in your version two box and if the gearbox can handle the stress. I am also thinking of how to decrease the force in the front of the gearbox. Maby through i silent head set since it decreases the impulse?
Peace! |

The MS100 is a relatively low power spring. The stock gearbox can easily handle that. A silent head piston would decrease the force, but there is really no need.

I hope you did not forget bushings, and read up on how to do this.
As said, unless you want a quieter sound, all you need is the spring and bushings. The bearing guide is a bonus. |

Yeah man, first thing i did was get prometheous bearing bushings. Thats what i ment by bearings in my above post but i wasnt specific *blush*.
And here is my mod on my m4a1. I cut the carry handle in the middle so i could mount my rail mounted lazer, and drilled out a few things bah bah bah equals pimp lazer all tucked away and fully usable iron sights so i can chose at my discretion or just pulse the lazer on to see as to where the heck i am aiming. |

Bearing bushings have a limit on the stress they can take. Normal 'oil-less' bushings are best.

Bearings will certainly do for 100 though. Not really an issue unless he planned to put a 120+ in.

I have Guarder bearing bushing and prometeus ms100 in my g3, works like a charm!! So if you plan on sticking with the ms100 spring you should be more than are right. The only thing that scare me a bit with the bearing, is if i want to play in cold weather, i do not know how they will react.
Cheers PS: Dont forget the shims....REALY IMPORTANT |

With an MS100, you'll notice a pretty big difference with a silent head set. At lower velocities, it can really cut down on the noise. But yeah, unless you're playing in very cold temperatures, you won't have to worry too much about abuse on the mechbox with that spring.

Yeah thanks man. I couldnt stand how stupid it looked without the carry handle and i want iron sights some of the time too. A great compromise in my oppinion. Many say why dont you get a ras but truth be told i dont want one i want my lazer out of harms way.

Hmm i am at my wits end finding an angel silent head set for version two (or for any version for that matter). All the oversea's places are out of stock for an in-determined period of time. The only place that has them is almost double the price. Anyone know where in the lower mainland or within a decent area for shipping i can find em? I am sure it would pass customs so if you know any american places with em across the line or a shop in calgary with them would work wonders as well.
Peace! |
