silicone grease?

is it safe to use silicone gerase on the gears in my mechbox?

Yes. As long as it contains no petroleum (sp?) it's perfectly safe. White Lithium grease from Canadian Tire is as well. Then again, there are next to no rubber parts in a mechbox (except for the piston O-Ring and a couple other parts in the area away from the gears).
