Guarder P226 slide help
Just a simple question...I got the non-black slide/frame, and I'm thinking of going with the 2-tone look for my p226 so i was wondering what's the best way of getting the stainless steel look? Sand off the sandblasted finish then use a clear laquer or wax polish?
All the guarder site says is "You can bright surface of the slide by wax polish.", so I'm unsure if i remove the finish.(link to guarder page just in case http://www.intrudershop.com/show_pro...?idproduct=716 )

I got that frame for my P226, What I did was took a file to all the inner parts and removed all the flash so everything fit and smeared grinding compound on the slide and frame and worked that back & forth until it was smooth (if you do the hard parts first so the fun easy parts are left) and then I took red scotchbrite and "Met all" polish and started sanding / polishing. After everything is smooth I took 1800 grit wet /dry paper to it and sanded the frame in one direction so it has a brushed stainless look. It took a couple evenings but it worked for me. I also put a Pachmyer wrap around grip on to finish it off.
