Question Noob needs assistence--barrel question

Hey, can anyone give me a quick rundown (or link to one) of inner barrels? I'm exparimenting on my TM FAMAS (or planning to, once I find some cash) and I'm curious to see what a tightbore/extended barrel would do for the range and grouping (the short range being my one major complaint about the design).

I was thinking of going overkill and putting a 650mm Prometheus tightbore barrel in it and hiding the additional 177mm that adds in a silencer. However, I need to know how these barrels work--are they universal for the most part, or will one listed as a "PSG-1 +" ONLY work with a PSG-1?

I did actually spot a Prometheus series called "universal," (1st link below) but I want to do a bit more homework before I decide on one or another...

Two current canidates in question:

and

http://airsoftglobal.com/product_inf...roducts_id=944

...are these the same thing tho??

Oh yeah, side note: I'm planning to do a spring/bushing upgrade at a [much] later date, and maybe if I'm reallly feeling froggy I might try sticking an EG1000 in there with an overhaul (should i find the parts) :hammer: ...but as it is, this is my only AEG, so I want to stick to upgrades with less chance of breaking things for the time being. Espechially considering I'm pretty new at this ;-)

Any input appreciated!

Nearly every single AEG barrel is interchangable, just get one the right size. The only exceptions to this rule off the top of my head are the KSC HK33 series and cheap LPEGs like CYMA and WELL POSes.

when i put a tight bore for my TM SR16 i found it tightend up groups dramaticly.
shooting semi auto i hit a pop can from 100ft away almost every time.
i found it to be a big improvment

It may be cheaper to go for another gun by the time you are done?

yeah dude...forget the FAMAS...your holdin a crappy peace of PLASTIC i might add...save your money up for a full metal one...trust me dude..its worth...if u wanna pop some pop cans from a good range...this is the way to do so...and there's more parts out there for ex.m4's rather than a famas...but yeah...its totally your choice...im just sayin its good for the long run...
