Experienced Airsofters Only, Check Me On This One...
Hey Guys,
I am going to upgrade my ICS PCR-4 ( M16 A3 ) this is my plan... Guarder SP-120 Spring Guarder Spring Guide with Bearing for Ver. 2 Guarder Steel Bushings with Dual Oil Channel Guarder Polycarbonate piston I figure this would get me to 380-400fps ... What do you think? Suggestions? Recommendations? Thanks -DD

SP120 will get you way more than 400. Check it: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filn...ring_guide.htm
Stick with the SP100 or M120.

I'd recommend going with the ics copper bushings. The bushing holes in the mechbox are a tad too small for guarder/systema etc to fit without alot of headache.
I did install guarder bushings in my ICS M4 RIS, however it involved the use of a c clamp, patience and a whole lotta cursing. Also for your spring, have you considered the Prometheus MS100SP? I'm running one in the M4 right now and it's singing along at about 350ish... Why do you need to be "clocking in" @ 380-400fps anyway? Good luck with the tweaking. And props to you btw on your excellent grammar and posting format, it's nice to see new users n0t p05t1ng u531ng l33t h4x0r 5p34k and so forth... |

Not sure why I want the High FPS .. I just never have been that high, and would like to be there.... Plus I guess I am going for a Longer Range AEG?
Thanks for the compliment...I have been on other forums before, so I am pretty familiar with things... -DD

Longer range is fine with that set up, but you can easily get 150ft using 0.25g BBs at a lower fps as well, aka. my MP5 shooting 365fps w/0.20g BBs. Heavier BBs are best for range and for brush penetration, too many times I've had guys shooting 0.20g BBs at me with their upgraded guns through thick brush, takes me just a burst of two to get them, most of the rounds bounce everywhere. I use heavier BBs, and have upgraded to be able to push them better. Still, am not close to 400fps. Keep in mind, the springs you are looking at are in meters per second (use an online converter to sort out fps), and the bearing spring guide will add another 10-15fps onto top.
Overall looks good from my point of view. |

for longer range. get a long inner barrel. I use MS110 spring and M16/AUG lenght innerbarrel and it shoots 381-387fps on .20g bb's
*note* .20g has more range but erratic when it reaches its maximum distance and .25g bb flies straight and better grouping. Also depends on what bb's you use. I find KSC perfects has a better grouping than my other previous bb's I used

I hope you enjoy replacing parts. Hot springs in a two piece gearbox is a bad idea.

I installed Systema area 1000 bushing (also gave me a rough time, and alot of cursing) and a guarder SP110 in my ICS M4. Thats all you really need, throw in a 9.6v 1700MaH battery and your ready to go at 355fps with pretty good ROF.

In my old AK I had a PDI 170 and metal bushings. I was using an 8.4v 1500MaH battery and I didn't noticed any decrease in ROF, and I was also picking off targets from farther away then I had imagined. I remember shooting Ringmaster from opposite ends of the Junkyard at Foxden and him flipping out thinking that it was friendly fire.
I was shooting around 395fps consistently. I'm not sure how the two piece gearboxes hold up to such punishment, but definately take into consideration what W.K.Shuridys said. Also, cool avatar. The pistols in the modern Romeo and Juliet were awesome. |

Yeah a hot spring isnt the best idea in a v2. I have an ms100 in mine now and I love the extra range! For the sanctity of your gearbox I would put more than an ms110 in it unless you dont expect it to last long, and the bushings are a VERY good idea to place. I dont know what five year old pakistani slave labourer thought up the idea of plastic ones (TM). Oh and the modern Romeo and Juliet is just straight stupid! It just jumps from modern to (middle ages?). I thougth she was gona commit suicide with the pistol when she brought it to see Romeo, but then she drank the "potion."
Peace! |

I had an CA m16 for a while, with a pdi 170, it shoots about 398 chronod last game. I think a hard shooting m16 is a good idea, since it's kinda long to go busting down doors.
