Somkey's M82A1 V3 or VFC M82A1 V2?
I have been doing some research. I found a review on a Barrett M82A1 Version 1 but none on the version 3. I want to know the differences on the Somkey's Barrett M82A1 Version 3. I know that it has a blowback and that the shells eject out when u shoot it. Also, i could not find any reviews on the VFC Barrett M82A1 Version 2 at all. I tried looking for it on several different airsoft sites but only found things people said about the VFC Barrett M82a1 Version 1 only. From wat i read, the VFC BArrett Version 1 was pretty bad. Some said the version 2 of the VFC BArrett is now fix. But i want to hear it from people who actually own or shot the VFC Barrett M82A1 and the Smokey's Barrett M82A1 Version 3. So which one is better. I was leaning towards the Somkey but it is 1k more than the VFC. So now I am trying to see if which one is worth buying, the Smokey's M82A1 Version 3 or the VFC M82A1 Version 2? I like the realism on the Smokey's but i want the one with the best performance.
Thank You |

Some of these questions have already been answered in the interim:
In an extended thread about the VFC Barrett, links to reviews and user opinions were offered. The Smokeys version however was not addresssed in this conversation. From what I'd gathered, both the Smokeys and VFC were similar from a construction quality stand-point. It seemed that the semi-auto nature and drastically lowered price of the VFC eclipsed the Smokeys offering. I know I certainly was stretching the limits considering the VFC, let alone the extra 500+ the Smokeys was to cost. For this comparison and updated opinion on how the VFC 'mid-term' is holding out, lets wait and see...

Agreeded!!! But I could be a pain in the arse. Maby a mod to catch the shells after they release would be in order, but major realism points. However anyone sane would make the choice knowing the inerds and which is most reliable.

They make a shell ejection catch for the real steel aug.... You could fashion a lttle fabric gab with a metal ring around it, that fits onto the port, with points to attac to the gun.

Hi
Does anyone has blueprints for any Barrett sniper rifles? I will be buillding a conversion kit / prop and I need some help. What I want to do is M99 so it could be converted to the XM109 (very similar design) Can anyone provide some measures ? I need everything besides the barrel lenght & the overall lenght. Thanks |

I think both guns have their pros and cons so wouldn't it be great if somebody could build a shell ejecting system in the gas system of the VFC ???

its up to you
you can ask for opinions but the fact of the matter is, no one can help you decide its what you want, what you feel comfy with and what you want to spend money on.
