Newbie needs advice

Hi everyone, I'm planning to buy this gun: TM Berreta M92F Chrome

I think it is an awesome gun and should serve me very well. Here is where I need advice:

According to Redwolf and other sites, it's rated for HFC134a gas, but I'd like to use Green Gas for more power, so i'm planning to upgrade with a Zeke metal frame and slide, but I can only find them in WGC.

This is what I got my eye on: Zeke metal slide and frame kit, Chrome

I'd like to know if it would be too risky ordering the kit? And considering I want more power and accuracy, what other upgrades would you guys suggest? Thanks.

I dunno about the gunsmithing part, but you could order both the kit and the gun from SpecArms during one of their monthly group orders to RedWolf. Will can bring in both guns and other restricted items, so you'd only have to order once.

Now I feel bad for directing business away from Randy.

Check out the FAQ's. You will find out that you risk the chance of seizure, and most liked it would. That includes the metal slide and the gun. check out the FAQ.

other then that, you have a good plan.

kinda the wrong section for this BTW... I've heard of Zeke slides cracking with Green Gas, FYI.

Yeah, there's like a replica all by itself. Customs doesn't care about valves and shit. So you need to get that from a local retailer, too.

Honestly though, MY advice would be maybe trying to find a stock metal Beretta (like KJW) that can run on green right out of the box. Or at least a different slide (ie not the Zeke one).

Actually my main concern was regarding ordering parts from outside Canada, sorry for not being clear. So should I just inquire with local retail shops? or would ordering online on WGC or Redwolf be safe enough?

Yeah, don't try to order a slide or frame as it will most likely get snagged by customs. Inquire through Canadian retailers.

Um ordering a metal slide by your self wouldn't be safe. I guess you can wait for a order organized by a ASC member and then ask them.

Okay thanks. Well what about other parts? Like springs? Valves? Barrels? etc.

You might really be better off ordering a metal Beretta, mate. :| It might be cheaper. Both WA and HFC make full metal Berettas, quite good ones too if the reviews are to be believed. http://64.124.25.51/hfcm9.htm http://64.124.25.51/m9od.htm

Why not just get a KJW Beretta Siver version like Drake suggested? It won't have authentic Beretta trades but it's a solid full metal gun that will take green gas and propane out of the box. You'll save a lot of money too. Just add Hogue grips to it and you have a silver metal M9 that loves propane, kicks like a horse and looks like a million bucks

Thanks alot for all the suggestions and advice guys. I'll certainly look into the full metal versions, and definitely will not order those parts online.

Best suggestion for you, for anything, is to order from a Canadian Retailer. No matter what you want, that's the safest bet.

And by far the cheaper option is to buy a gun that is already rated to do what you want instead of building one up.

A friend has the silver Beretta and I've fired it many times. It is a sweet gun and can take a beating. It's powerful, kicks hard, looks pimp, has realistic weight and is an all round awsome gun for gaming, plinking and siting infront of the TV reloading over and over with.

Don't waste your time with that TM pastic crap and spending oodles to upgrade it with an iffy kit, get it all at once with the KJW. If trades are what you want, they even make a version with trades but it costs like 1/3 and I don't know if it comes in silver. Personally, it hella ain't worth it spending what will end up being 50-100 bucks on some bloody numbers and a couple words. Metal is what counts for me.
