Question on nozzle lengths

Hi
Recently picked up some nozzles for a g36 and mp5. i decided to measure them just to confirm and found that they were shorter than i expected them to be from looking online at specs.
The g36 nozzle measured 23.5mm vs 24.3 spec i found online and the mp5 was 18.0mm vs 20.4mm spec. Pics attached, these are shs nozzles.

Im wondering if im either measuring these the wrong way, i got the wrong part, or are there different lengths for different versions of these guns?

Thanks

nozzle dilemma

G36's use two different lengths long/short
AK's use two different lengths long/short
MP5 series / MP5K, two different lengths long/short

as do many others.

You've already won half the battle by owning vernier calipers.

Best suggestion i can make is always measure the stock nozzle and then order.

send an e-mail first to the seller to confirm long or short version, request a measurement. some forward thinking nozzle makers now laser etch the length into the nozzle, very handy.

in closing, some cylinder heads are also designated as long or short

From my experience... in a nuteshell:

Different brands will have different specs for the same gun.

DO NOT MIX DIFFERENT BRAND PARTS.

For example: G&G Mp5 and Cmya Mp5 although they are the same gun will have a different measurement for the nozzle, gearbox, body, etc.

Another example: sometimes a gearbox's front end will be thicker at the front and that pushes the hop up forward, which results in needing a longer nozzle compared to another gun that has a thinner front.
