If you need a big enough caliber handgun then its practical. more so then hauling a barrett. Since were on teh topic of desert eagles, i know you can get them chambered ofr other types of ammo. are the .37, .41, .440 and .44 any smaller then the .50 variants?

The words "CS" and "real life" should never be used in the same sentence as they are mutually exclusive. The only exception is when you are pointing out that someone plays too much CS and has no real life.

Not to mention, the availability of a metal slide set for the TM (I haven't seen any for others).

The Marushin 8mm DE is junk, can't hit the broadside of a barn with it from the inside. Shoots like stink though on propane, which works for about 5 shots till the valve seal blows off and you've got to disassemble the mag to seat it again. Hurts too, assuming anyone can hit you with it (apparently I'm bulletproof when it comes to 8mm). Something like 450 fps with a 0.34g.

The KWC is superior to the Marui IMHO. They have versions that accept regulated CO2 so running them off propane is usually a safe bet, unlike the TM which is built for duster and is prone to breaking with propane.

And contrary to some opinions expressed above, they are a more than gameable piece if they suit your grip. Would I use one in the woods, as a backup or otherwise? Probably not. Indoors at Xtreme Tactics where it's the ONLY gun I'm carrying? Absolutely. My buddy has three of different makes (TM NBB, KWC, and HFC) and he loves them. Mind you he's 6' 9" and 320 lbs....

The DE is available in .357, .44, .50 AE as the most popular calibers. The gun's size is the same.
It's a neat gun, but one of the most impossible to cart around. Too big, too bulky for what you get.
But Hollywood made it 'trendy', so everyone who never touched a real gun wants one.
Those of us who have? Most shrugged and went to buy a S&W Model 29 instead, or a .45.

I don't have any experience with the KWC so I'm not going to comment on it, but the TM DE will take propane as well as it will take duster. All of the problems that eventually happen with the gun will happen whether you're using propane or duster. It's merely a matter of prolonged wear, and using propane doesn't accelerate the wear nearly as much as on other guns.

Agreed. I have a TM Hardkick and I usually only use it as a primary or in all pistol games. It's fun as hell but I find it's just too bulky to be holstered...I know 2 guys over 6 feet and they're perfectly content using theirs as a sidearm though.
