Cutting down an inner and outer barrel
Ok so im getting a G36c and want to get a STAR Extra Long kit for it as i dont like the square holes on the K kit. However if this kit turns out to be too long and unweildly in the feild i was wondering if the barrels both inner and outter can be cut down with out messing them up and still having them be able to attach. Is both ends of the outer barrel threaded? Im not sure if this is possible to do just wondering.

Why not buy a G&P G36K kit? It's got round-ish holes like the extra long kit.

i cant find a G&P kit on any of the retailer sites, and they dont have inner barrels.

Did you just look at the websites, or did you email the retailers to ask if/when they could get the things you want?

try one of the overseas retailers like wgc, more likely to have what you need in stock.

You can cut down inner barrels easy with a pipe cutter.
The outer barrel tho, You'd probaly need something with a bit more............ooomph. |

Uncrowned on left, crowned on right. Just buy a STAR or CA G36K. Are you even over 18?

If you dont know the basic techniques, like crowning / champhering, forget doing any metal work on a barrel. It's not a hacksaw job.
If you think any airsoft gun upgrade is just a matter of opening a gun, dropping parts in and closing it in a jiffy, you are kidding yourself. You were told, often, to go meet other folks, get age-verified at the same time, and learn in person. Do it. If not, you are just trolling for spoonfeeding again. |

Its not a hacksaw job, but a pipe cutter will do just fine. What I did with my inner barrel was cut with a pipe cutter, and then crowned it with an exacto knife. The inner barrel was made out of surprisingly soft metal, and the exacto knife cut rather easily. I just held the knife at an angle and rotated the barrel with my hand. You'll get a much better cut if you rotate the barrel, not the knife. Just make sure the blade is sharp.
