who owns a mp5 sd5 or sd6? or can give me ideas about it
hi ..i have a TM mp5 sd6 and i was wondering if anybody had ideas how to make either make the silencer shorter or is there a way or sumthing i can buy to add onto the gun instead of using the silencer that came with the gun. the silencer is 4 inches longer than the inner barrel..a waste of gun length when i can have it shorter.
thanks for your ideas |

if you can pull the endcap off the silencer, you would be able to cut the silencer down, and refit the endcap.

Or you can have a longer inner barrel added (+10cm fits great, 330mm) and keep the looks as it is. I recently added a 330mm barrel to my MP5SD thing and my fps increased by 20fps, sitting at around 387fps now.

If you twist the endcap it should come off easily.

Might have some locktight in there holding it tight.

The endcap doesn't come off of the TM SD front end. The supressor itself does though, it's not threads, it's a dual lug style attachment on it that loosens after a while (plastic on plastic). On mine, if I twist it on the full 180deg, it's loose, so I only twist it about 90deg to keep it on tight.
If you need to shorten it, best case is to cut a slice out of the middle of it, then glue back together, and buy some wide black heatshrink to finish the supressor end. That'll cover up any screw ups you did and the glue seam. |

It came off on my TM SD front end.... was threaded on, took some pressure but between my vise and a pair of lockgrips it threaded off....
To remove the silencer from the gun is as Stalker said. We are talking about the front end of the silencer as the end cap correct? |

That's what I'm referring to. I bought my TM SD front end used, maybe the previous owner super glued it on? I doubt it, but figured since there is no foam inside the TM supressor, there was no reason for it (the very tip, the endcap) to come off.

Yea I put foam in mine, as the odd time a BB would go off kilter and ding the inside of the front end and rattle around....

I wanted to put foam in mine but had no way to open it up, so I left it all last year and part of this year, few weeks ago I had to open my mechbox so I cut & installed a 330mm barrel. Works pretty damn good now. Gave up on the supressor though.

thanks for everybodys input. i will maybe try cutting that silencer and gluing it back on like u said stalker.
quick question everybody, i know its off topic but since i got mp5 owners attention. i might as well ask this...can somebody please check this item and tell me if this rail is considered a weaver, dovetail..etc... basically, theres this scope i want and the scope says it fits 7/8 inch weaver rails. http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct...sp?prodid=2934 |

Exact same as I have on my MP5, it fits standard Weaver/Pictanny mounts. Just be careful the type of scope you get, I have a Tasco RedDot sight on mine (35mm tube, super fast to use, unlike smaller tubes that will get you shot faster), I had to cut half the rail attachment off it to get it to fit that mount. That one there is still much better than a clawmount, especially if you have a plastic body. It doesn't budge, where the clawmount shifts and occasionally falls off.
