AEGs with cycling bolts?

(Skip the the end for the real question)

I've have actually experienced airsoft yet, so sorry if I sound like one of those stupid GIVE ME GUNZ fuck ups that post shit like this:

I've noticed that none of the AEGs videos I've seen feature a cycling bolt. This is a serious game stopper for me for 2 reasons.
  • A) I originally found out about airsoft while looking for a prop AKxx for about 10 seconds of footage in a short film. Which, although delayed for over a year, I hope to finally get into production in the spring. (takes place outdoors - don't worry, I'm going to do my best to keep everything safe and have a police officer on site to prevent any trouble.) It would really like to have a shot of the weapon firing and cycling. (effects like ejected shell and muzzle smoke can be simulated with some editing)
  • B) It's a huge atmosphere killer for me. I guess in CQB like at TTAC3 the actions are so small that it isn't noticeable, but on large outdoor games the compounded fact that the airsoft only sound realistic when you imagine that it is 2 km away or something ( :P ) makes the suspension of disbelief difficult to uphold.

I've investigated things like the auto back but they look like they damage the AEG piston which is no good for play. As for film they they do not move all the way back which isn't any good and would make it worse!

I guess this isn't really much of a problem though as.
  • A) I could just shot the gun from the side without the ejection port. But how can I justify putting down the money on the replica to the producer if we aren't even going to shot the interesting parts!
  • B) I'm sure it isn't very noticeable anyway when you are busy running around.

Now the real question. Are there any stock Airsoft AEGs that cycle when fired?

Cheers

There is also Star SA80

edit: if you want super realism get one of those shell ejececting shotguns, then spend your lunch money on shells since youll be losing them quite often.

My friend, what you want cannot be found in an AEG. I highly recommend you check this out: http://youtube.com/results?search_query=escort+airsoft

Be forewarned, Escort guns will cost you anywhere from four to eight times the cost of an AEG, but are they oh so worth it.

you can get a kit for TM AK's that will cycle the bolt. Gov't Grant has one he may be selling...

I think the cycling bolt can be simulated with CGI anyway.

That escort shit is very cool.

Is it Gas blow back or electric with some counter weight in it?.

Also, how hard would it be to just jerry rig the thing to attach the ejection port door to the cylinder? I guess you wouldn't be able to cock the gun, but you don't need to do that on AEGs anyway?

More specifically the gas rig is typically a paintball gun cylinder, either CO2 or HPA, and the hose goes into the pistol grip on the Escort versions. Other "classic" airsoft guns have various other methods of attaching the rig and firing the BB, but none are like the Escort system which is modernized and in current production. A lot of people dislike the idea of using an external rig but I always ask them, do you use a sling? If so what's the difference?

If hard-kicking recoil and a loud muzzle report mean using external gas, that sounds like an acceptable compromise to me!

I I am not mistaken, the G&G L85 also comes stock with an Auto-back bolt.

You're right, but there have been a lot of complaints surrounding it and most people end up breaking it or stop using it before it breaks.

I guess there is some small part that is meant to break before something else breaks in it... it is replaceable, but I guess it is rare and easily broken?
