TW vs JASG (ksc glocks)
If you didnt understand the title this thread dedicated to the difference in build between the infamous (lemon) of the Tiwan (TW) and duribility of JAPV (japan) build in gbbs. Which brings us to our test model.
The glock 19. Now i own a TW ksc glock and was wondering specificly what parts of the hammer asembly are weakened, this includes trigger sears and piston parts. (excluding the obviously going to break rocket-flow-valve) I noticed my feedramp is chewed up, looks kinda gross...only shot a few hundred bbs. (on both propane and duster) They posibily use cheaper/ pot(tier) metal for this part in the TW version? pics on request - > thanks alex hope the grammer police dont lock me up for this one :banghead:

I have a Taiwan Glock 19 and its held up to a whole year with little visible wear and tear (400-500 rounds fired all on propane.) Upgraded metal slide/barrel, enhanced recoil rod, and enhanced hammer spring. I had no idea there was any difference in materials and I figured it was just quality control differences in the assembly process.
CDN_Stalker has one that had something break in the hammer assembly, don't know if his is a TW or JAP build though. Last edited by LUTNIT; February 5th, 2007 at 14:19.. |

no real differences (materials) in the usps, so I'm assuming the same goes for the glock line.

Why everyone bash the TW build and insist on spending the extra 15-30bux? I'll just ask cnd_stalker, he tends to know everything. |

At TTAC3, they use the TW G19 (KWA, right?) version iirc. Literally tens of thousands of rounds through them before 2 of 4 were retired. While they require maintenance, they seem to run just fine despite being Taiwanese.

I don't think the TW version of KSC guns are the same as KWA guns. I'm not 100% sure but I thought they where different.
Yeah, Stalker is a glock guru |

with both of my KSC glocks (34 + 18) I have had nothing but issues, NOw i have never taken them to a gun dr to get fixed but i put 4000 rounds through each and the feed ramps are shot and the tend to just vent gas right after the 3rd shot. both have metal kits and enhanced recoil springs.

Gee, that sunshine really warms the bum on a cold day!
Hehe, ya, ok, I have two KSC G19s (my first one became a parts gun for my regular use fully upgraded one after it went, um, kaput), and thanks to Lutnit am now back up to two full working G19s. The peice that broke in my hammer assembly, don't remember the P/N, broke finally because 1/ I have shotten the living hell out of that gun. I bought it thrid hand as well. 2/ and the big reason I guess, I used the snot out of it in the sandpits at Rawdon last summer after my MP5 got plugged up with sand dust. My G19 fell in the sand and got a good amount of sand kicked over it when I was being medic'd. I blew it off, and went through another 3 mags of BBs withont even a burp. I think that part just had enough and went a few weeks later. It links up the trigger bar with the hammer release if anyone is interested. BTW, one of my G19s is a japanese version (has JASG stamped in the cross bar of the front rail section), the other two (including the parts gun) are the TW ones. Now the good news, on topic. As far as anyone has said, and I really haven't seen otherwise, all the KSC guns are assembled in Taiwan (although using Japanese made parts) and go through the quality control in Taiwan, then are shipped out to retailers. Some of the guns, no idea how many, 25-40% I'd guess, go back to Japan for a second quality control check, are stamped then sent off to retailers. So you are really just paying the extra (rarely is it an extra $15-30 to buy a Jap one over a TM one, often it's closer to 50-60 more)for a second QC check (higher chance of a good reliable gun). Parts are all the same quality though, as best as can be done. I could be wrong, but I've never seen anyone else post otherwise. Last edited by CDN_Stalker; February 8th, 2007 at 15:22.. |

Only the G19 comes stock with a metal feedramp and recoil spring guide. I've heard about snapped feed ramps on G18s before.
Dump some silly oil in where the hammer pivots, and inside the slot in the middle, then work it in well. I've had venting gas happen in a few of the GBBs I've owned in the past, this has fixed it every time (have also told at least half a dozen others with the same problem to do that, it fixed every one of them). |

The chewed ramps might be from the hopup tool - I should post a pic of my modification to eliminate this.

it's not from the hop up tool I never put it in there and I bought both of these new, I just think the plastic feed ramp is SHIT

Mine have gotten chewed up as well, not sure why, but I just use a round diamond file to smooth (because if you get little nicks on your BBs, they will fly everywhere but where you want them to go) and polish my feed ramps. Am sure you can refurbish your plastic ramps pretty easily.

Lastly, you remember that g&g metal slide kit you worked on for lutnit...
well i bought it off him and installed it, works like a charm. Every few mags the slide doesnt totally return and it vents out gas untill i press it foward. You never did figure this out did you? |
