Tanaka Mauser Kar98 Green Gas Effect
Sup guys! This might be a stupid question to some of you, but would green gas break the Tanaka Mauser Kar98? I just recieved my gun last week and tried to use green gas in it and its loud sound really freaks me out (its cool, but it feels like its going to break). I could also admit this is my first gas gun. Please help me figure out if I should continue with green gas or stay low with what the manufacturer prefers :HFC 134a Duster gas. THanks!

Well I don't have a chrono, but from what I've seen HFC makes it shoot 400-450 and Green Gas makes it shoot 520-580 (Rough Estimates by how much it ruined my furniture and its speed of flight). Pretty nice gun, just scares me with the loud change of sound when I use the green gas. Just worried whether it will break the gas chamber , but over all its a great gun.

Yeah I would stick to the 134a gas, cause those guns are kinda fragile.
also where did you get the gun from? you are not age verified so I can't be from asc.

I use propane on my tanaka m700 A.I.C.S for over a year now with no problem. But the m700 and there kar 98 may be built diffrently. When I look at the build of the m700 the most thing I think will be damage from the pressure is the magazine and the nozzle but that's it. I like propane a bit more than 134a since the expansion is faster I found but that may just be me.

yeah. the Tanaka M700 series gas guns can take propane just fine, They are built to withstand propane, heck, even minor usage of red gas. I suspect they reccomend you using hfc134a in their guns is to compensate for Japan's fps limits.
as for the Mauser Kar 98, many people reported breaking their gun with propane usage. its a very nice collectors piece, i reccomend you stick to hfc 134a, its powerful enough already. |

Depends where he lives. Heck, maybe his mom works at customs and was able to pull some strings even (if he lives in Canada, I suspect not so far). |

Look at the name that he bolded, the retailer behind propscam and possibly the guy with the worst reps in the global airsoft world.
