Current Options for MP5K metal bodies
Just tossing this thread out there as an update to an old search I did..
I'm simultaneously searching for options for a metal body for a Marui MP5K. Previously, I believe Classic Army made the only metal body for the MP5K series. If anyone knows if there are more options now, I'd be interested to hear about it. Also, if anyone is aware of whether or not the PDW stock from an MP5 RAS will fit onto an MP5K, would you mind letting me know? Thanks! |

Classic Army is the only manufacturer for the MP5k metal receiver and a stock from a full sized MP5 wont fit onto an MP5k as the section on the back where it normally bolts too isn't there. You'd have to get an MP5k-PDW stock or go with the M4 slither stock option (pop a hole in the back plate on the MP5k and bolt an M4 slighter stock or crane stock to it.)

Thanks Lutnit,
But I'm a little confused. To clarify: I COULD get a full size MP5 body, but I'd have to use a PDW stock? Although, even if that worked, I'd still have to find the front end pieces for a full size MP5, which would defeat the purpose of having the K. I suppose I'll just have to source out a CA metal body. |

Well technically you could GET a full sized metal body and stock, BUT it would be useless because is wouldn't work. The MP5K and PDW both have version 3 boxes in them. Only the MP5K (PDW) body and PDW stock would work... hope that clarifies things for you

CA bodies for the MP5K are a huge pain in the ass to fit. Get your dremel and a couple of files ready.....

i've got a PDW stock on my MP5K, just requires some drilling if you're using the buttcap that came with the MP5K.

Thanks for the info everyone.
I recall the PDW and K versions having the ver. 3 mechbox now that you mention it. Looks like CA is the only way to go! |
