CO2 is expensive (compared to propane) and thats a lower end brand. Its best to save up and get a gun from a known good manufacturer: TM, KSC, WA, etc. even companies like KJW and WE have been known to produce a lot of lemons. Personally its TM or KSC for me, no exceptions WA are the best but their really expensive.

Also your only 17 so you can't buy yet, wait till your birthday in June and your good to go.

Also an AEG should be top on your list for getting started in airsoft, then some BDU's, magazines, batteries, a good charger, rig to carry mags, etc. etc. all before you get a sidearm. So if you don't already have an AEG (thats a trick question, your under 18 so you shouldnt have one, its only 4 months away) then a sidearm should be the last on your list. That is assuming your looking into playing airsoft and not just plinking or basement target shooting, then whatever floats your boat.

You can pick up many different TM or KSC guns in their stock form for $200-250 from ASCA or A&A. Also because their mainstream guns they have a lot more accessories and replacement parts available in case you want to upgrade later or something goes wrong.

Define "not too expensive." As far as I know you'll pay at least $200 for a decent GBB pistol, I believe some people on this forum have used the CYMA G18 (or was it 17?) from buyairsoft.ca. Do a simple search and see what they have to say about it, or contact them and ask.

ahh well u can get good quality ones on www.aasurplus.ca/airsoft for around 300, mostly all the brands on their gbb section are good quality, so i dont think you can lose with any, however once u do find the gun u are looking for make sure to find a good review on it

hmmm, i personally havnt run into any good gbb's that werent around the 250area

I strongly recommend you wait until you are 18. The next few months, with reading the reviews already written, and visiting local games (with permission) will give you lots of information.

Then when you are ready to buy, you will know the basics. You will also know that buying a handgun as your first gun is rarely a good idea.

Nobody can choose for you, and you cant compare quality levels until you read some more.
