Adjustments to Glock 17 Barrel Wobble

Hi there. You may remember me from my threads about my Glock.
I had put tape on the barrel to stop wobble, and it did. Made the gun shoot a lot straighter. However, it's still a teeny bit wobbly and it isnt as accurate as it could be.
I did a little photoshopping of some pictures and came up with this:

In this picture the inner barrel is on the top, with a simulated tape stabilizer wrapped around the barrel, which kinda works and what I have been doing up to now. The outer barrel is what's the problem. The red area I've circled is the part of the inner barrel that goes a tiny bit into the diameter of the inner barrel, and for that reason I can only get a certain radius on the tape stabilizer. Otherwise, the part sticking down stops me from inserting the inner barrel. Because of this, the tape stabilizer isn't snug up to the outer barrel everywhere else, and causes a bit of wobble. Now, if that wasn't there, I could insert the barrel with the correct amount of tape.
Note: it's a part of the outer barrel, I can't really break it off, and I'd be wary about sanding it off etc.

Suggestions?

It may be my 200% gamma, but i'd suggest remaking that picture so i can see more than just a black square and red circle.

Hmm I'll outline the barrels better then.
Is this better? The part that dips down make the entrance of the top of the barrel flat, not round like it would be if continuous.

why not show the weapon and point out the problem you have from there. reason im suggesting that is perhaps you can get rid of the tape and fabricate a shim in its place.

without looking at the weapon i cant be sure my idea will work, but i have cut a piece of a pop can into a square so perhaps you could replace your tape with a metal shim. if you cut the shim into the same shape and length of the tape you might have a better repair.

It would need to be thicker than that.
Anyway here's the pics.
This is looking down the barrel, showing that the inner barrel is flopping around.

This is a pic of just the out barrel from the front.

This is a pic of the inner barrel from the back, showing the non-circular opening for the inner barrel.

This is a pic showing the side of the outer barrel, emphasis on the part that dips in on the middle of the picture, back of the outer barrel.

good pics,,now i see the problem, no friction through the center so you have to hit from the side,,( joking ) ok,,so now that i see the gap between the outer and inner barrel i would suggest sourcing out revy or home hardware for a material that would be a good candidate to fit over the inner barrel snug, but leave a fraction of space for the slide action.like say automotive hose tubing and plumbers tubing comes in so many sizes you may have to shape and cut either one to make the proper form but it could work.

And just slide it in the front? I assume that's what you mean because I can't do it from the back. I suppose I could try some kind of tubing. Would I have to affix it with something or would it just be good sitting in there? (assuming it has a bit of snugness to not fall out)

And thanks for the help. I just got a Sig p229 as well. The thing is frickin heavy!

Go to an electronics store and buy some black heatshrink in the right size. Use a good hairdryer (lighter works to, but risk burn marks) to shrink it, presto!

But it has to go in the front. The problem is not that I can't get something to fit in there that works. The problem is that I can't put something on there that would make it snug, AND insert it from the back. I think it would be a little diffcult to heat shrink the barrel inside the outer barrel. I've already tried taping it while it's inside. It's impossible.

Ah, ok.

Tell me, just how accurate/inaccurate is your Glock? You know you can only wring out so much accuracy out of a GBB. If I'm lucky and steady I can get most of my shots into a CD sized group from 30ft away using good ammo (like 0.30g). That's perfectly fine for me.
