TM M14 Trigger Guard Problem

Hey guys,

A while ago i took apart me M14 to put a bipod adapter in it. When I put everything back together the trigger guard will not lock into place. It goes all the way in but wont lock in place. I'm not sure if it's a part missing or what as it does not appear anything is missing. So for now it's zip tied into place until I can get this figgered out. Any help would be greatly appreciated

That metal is fairly malleable.

Bend it back in to shape by lengthening the trigger guard. ie, the part that clips in to the stock... pull it out a bit. In natural state, it should sit outside of the hole, requiring a bit of force to bend it in far enough to push back in to the stock. Hope that made sense.

yep, it actually hooks onto a fairly solid looking hook thing on the motor bracket. i can't see it ever breaking.
