proper maintenance.
Hi, I am pretty new to airsoft and was wondering about proper gun maintenance, what lubricants to use, any tips on where to apply as well?
Also, are there any lubricants available at Canadian tire that would be suitable for this? Vespertilio |

White lithium grease and Silicon oil. Lithium is for the gearbox and silicon is for the barrel and mags.

hi
umm...its pretty logical that you apply lubricants at places of friction where moving parts have contact. Now in that case, if its for a GBB then you lube the mag, blowback chamber, slide rails, hammer, trigger. airsoft atlanta has a guide for this stuff. do a quick search, don't call us to do all the work for you. anyways welcome to the forum! |

is it possible to grease the gearbox without opening it...i don't want to fuck it up...i was thinking of using the GUNK brand kind and just spray it in there

OK
Thanks, Just had another question,,.
What about how often,,,. I have a TM M4A1 btw. I guess for the barrel, a little oil here and there between games, and afterwards would be a good idea,. But what about the gearbox, how often say would some more grease be applied, like after every schirmish, or maybe after every 2-5 maybe? Vespertilio |

The barrel definitely does not need any lubrication... The only thing you need to do is apply something decent to the internals, once. Superlube by Loctite is superior to pretty much everything else for this application. If you've got a stock TM, I wouldn't even bother relubing, the lithium grease in there should last a very long time.

stock barrels dont need to be cleaned as often, but a tightbore needs to be cleaned after every game, its amazing how fast they get dirty
