HFC Metal M9 Major Problem

Hi, I recently bought an HFC M9 Metal Auto airsoft gun and for the first month or so it has worked very well. But recently when i go to start shooting when i pull the trigger the slide cycles but all the gas in the mag exits out of the barrel. Does anybody know what the problem is? Thanks in advance.

I'm going to ask the obvious: What kind of gas are you using? Is it dirty? Have you cleaned it? Are you using propane? Are you adding silicone oil to the mags when charging? Lots of missing info to make an educated guess!

Good luck!

I have had mine for 6 months now = NO PROBLEMOS!

There is a little selector bar buried underneath the selector lever that is designed to hit pre-indented notches on the frame as the slide moves. This times the opening and closing of the mag valve to control gas flow during full and semi auto fire.

This selector bar has a bad habit of breaking as it's only cast zinc and very small. If you get no fire control at all in either mode, this may very well be the problem.

But it doesn't hurt to take the slide apart and check, just remember where all the little springs and bearing go.

I am using propane and adding silicone lube as directed. I've cleaned it. I've been thinking the selector lever is the problem, its not broken but I don't think it is moving correctly. The notch in the lever on the slide is even with the metal on either side of it, is it suppose to be sticking up?

It should be down enough to make contact with the frame as the slide moves across the notches. If you move the selector lever, you should see the little silver bar move up and down. If it doesn't, then it's broken.

Ok, I don't see any notches, where are they on the frame?

On the slide guides. There should be at least 1 and possibly 2. It's been awhile since I worked on that model of gun. But no matter, it's the selector bar that needs to engage them. The notches on the frame will not have ever changed. If the bar doesn't move, it's toast.

Good luck getting a replacement.
