7mm Bearings

I have a Progear v2 Reinforced Gearbox that uses 7mm Bearings.
Im curious, does the 7mm refer to the outer diameter? or do i have to get special 7mm Gears for my gearbox.
Also What size is the standard gear size (Such as the Guarder Steel v2 Gears)
If i need special 7mm gears, is it possible to just get 6mm Bearings and put it into my gearbox? or is the holes too big?

Holes are too big. The size refers to the outside diameter, standard are 6mm. All gears are supposed to be the same size and it doesn't matter if you have 6mm, 7mm, or 8mm bushings but there are always tolerence difference between brands.

7mm refers to outer diameter, normal gears are fine. You can't use 6mm bushings in a gearbox with 7mm bushing holes.

My older SRC gears will not fit into the 7mm bushings though The diameter is too big :S does that mean my SRC gears are weird?

yes, i noticed guarder gears (which are crap) have trouble fitting in some 7mm bearings, all in all it just means dont mix and match companies, systema bushing/bearing and systema gears is the way to go

What makes the Guarder Gears crap?
Is this the same for the Cylinder + piston?
and what exactly does a helical Gear set do that a normal one doesnt?

helical gears run a bit quieter, 2-3 teeth are in contact at any one time as opposed to stock gears which only have one in contact, because of this they can also handle ALOT more torque (like M170!!). They're also shimming sensitive due to the way they're set up, it's still really easy to shim them its VERY obvious when they're not shimmed properly lol
I dont know what they do to their gears, i think they quench them in water when they heat treat them (causing cracks), but we've had a few break on us in manitoba. Everything else guarder makes is real good quality, although i've had a spring guide with a nearly seized bearing on it.
their cylinder and piston work well, and they have an awesome double o-ring cylinder head and double oil channel bushings.

I understand now and will go with the systema helical gears set

Ive decided to go with the Guarder M4 Cylinder kit and the Systema Helical Gears
