Shims in a stock TM V2 mechbox

If I'm only replacing the bushings, is there enough shims in the V2 Mechbox to properly re-align the gears or will I need to buy extras?

Im no shimming expert yet, but its worth the 5-7 bucks for a shim set cuz there are some differences between stock nylons and the metal bushings, so they would and might need slight shim adjustments.

Ok, the mechbox already contained 5 shims. I left them in the same pattern with the new metal bushings and it seems fine.

That's probably not the best idea... did you first check to see if everything was OK ie no rubbing against the mechbox, minimal lateral movement of the gears etc?

I'm no expert, but with the mechbox tightly closed, the gears moved smoothly and nothing seemed too tight or too loose. The metal bushings were the same size as the plastic one.

Anyway, I'll give it another look before putting the gun back together.

Make sure you shim each gear (one at a time) starting with the (1)spur...(2)sector....(3) bevel gear. Check out the link below for tutorial.
