Maruzen L96 and Internals

Im buying/trading some rifles for a Maruzen L96. It currently has an SP130% spring installed on stock parts.

My question is, how long will internals hold up on this spring, I hear the hop-up unit needs to be replaced for this...true?

Also, sorry for beating a dead horse! :smack:

First of all, the gun is rock solid!

The spring should not wear out very quickly, because its a sniper and you usually dont shoot that many shots compared to an aeg. If you leave the gun cocked on the other hand, that will compress the spring making it weaker, but other than that it should stay pretty consistent. Plus there is no tempurature affecting the fps because its spring.

The hop-up is not the best out there, but if you upgrade to around 400fps you should be fine, depending on how precise you want the bb. You can also opt for a new hop-up unit made by pdi I believe, which gives the the neat feature of being able to adjust the hop-up not only up and down, but side to side, or so i hear. I also believe that if you get a pdi hop-up, it needs to use a pdi barrel, so thats an excuse to get a precision barrel. But dont quote me on that.

Either way, its a great gun that wont let you down!

Be careful no one calls the cops when you play on your frontyard. My friend had to deal with a annoying neighbor that kept calling the cops when ever he took his l96 out to tune it, etc. It ended up in court when he file for harassment and lost. Neighbor was doing his civic duty or some bullshit like that.
