tokyo marui famas f1 help

alright so today i was able to get out to a game and get age verified by don, i also got to play a bunch of games with one of his mp5s. He also had a famas which was out of commission and it really looked amazing to me. I was wondering how hard it would be to upgrade this guns fps and gears? The hi torque motor shouldn't be a problem for an m120 spring right?

From what allot of people have said the FAMAS is VERY hard to upgrade and parts are very hard to find. It might be a little different now though.

FAMAS is basically the oldest gun in the TM line up. Aftermarket version 1 gears are about as common as unicorns. If you're going to upgrade one, you're better off sticking with a spring that the stock gear can handle for a while, 110s and below. Besides, MS120 will likely push you over 400fps.

Only TM I can think of that maybe comes close to shooting over 300 consistently is the M14. Most TMs are around 280-290.

380fps-ish, depending on airseal and barrel length. If you want to play it safe, I'd go with a MS100 and be satisfied with 340ish.

340 is a nice fps id say, would the ms100 put a lot less strain on the gears? keeping me from having to upgrade them right away?

one thing I heard about the FAMAS though is make sure you get the version that has the hopup as the first version of the FAMAS didn't have one.

Also I also heard that if you break your gearbox, only another FAMAS for parts can help you out. Not sure if that's true though.

Going down in power will always reduce the strain on the gears. I know that V2/3 gears can take 100 quite reliably. I don't know where V1 gears stand, though.

That would appear to be the case. You can just PM Jugglez on ASC, he's the owner.
