Cant decide
Cant decide between G&G's UMG, and JG's Mp5 RAS. UMG is more expensive, and plastic bodied, (even though plastic is realistic, as real UMP 9 is plastic, I'd like metal), and JG is cheaper and available in either full metal upper and lower receivers, or just metal upper, (wouldn't mind a metal lower, even if it was unrealistic), but I really want a UMP. Anybody own one who could give me some input? I really can't decide.

do u live in the US? cuz if u want the MP5 then u have to special order it. Not that any store have UMGs in stock right now anyways, so you have to special order both ways.
For me, I'd go with the MP5. I heard better things about that then the UMG. But if you wanna look like 007 from Casino Royale in the last scene and be sexy as fuck, go with the UMG. its not bad. |

Yeah, from the US. And, yeah I heard bad stuff about the UMG, but, yeah, again, it is much more sexiful. And rarer than those ubiquitous Mp5s.

never heard anything good about the g&g ump, the star umG however got rave reviews. if your not willing to dish out for the star, get the jg, go for full metal as well, youll end up doing that in the end anyways, might as well get that outta the way... btw, i wasnt aware that RS mp5s were synth lower recievers.

MP5s have more parts availability, and modularity. I'd go for the G3 SAS , personally.. but w/e.

Okay. I'm tired of this chicken wing shit. Savage, I know you're probably joking.. but to anyone else who has this "chicken wing=bad" misconception, let's try a fun little experiment...
Take a full-sized, or full-stocked gun, and fire it as if you were wearing a plate carrier; so gun is perpendicular to your armor.. Notice how you have more "meat" to absorb the recoil-or rather to rest your stock on? You can put raise your elbow, or lower it, and you still have the same amount of support. Let's try the same experiment with a standard shooting position; so the gun will be viceperpendicular to your chest. Notice how you have little, or no support, or "meat", to absorb the recoil whilst your elbow is lowered? So what have we learned? Chicken wings aren't all that bad. Also, the " you'll get your elbow shot off" thing has got to stop. You're not supposed to have your gun in an "up'n'ready" position in a CQB situation , anyway! Bah.. there's my rant. God , I need sleep. |

True to that kos different position or situation applies to different techniques. You have to have elbow high enough just to start flying LOL
I had G&G UMP which later trailed down to different ASC users.. The UMP has one issue which is the tappet plate needs to be replace with different one because of its faulty design, only simple if you know how to repair a mechbox. Start out with TM Mp5 series its about reliability plus a huge factor it has tons of after market parts and accessories to repair or upgrade in the future. If you willing to spend about 500 - 600 CDN then try going with CA B&T Mp5 series, they are full metal mp5 with a fewer pre-upgraded mechbox. However, the V2 mechbox (like all CA V2 Mechbox) on CA MP5 might have tappet plate issue (correct me if I'm wrong) and will need to be replace which would be the only part that is fragile. PLUS you get to bolt slap CA one like mad and not have it broken |

Stand behind cover. Shoulder your weapon. Start to peek out from behind cover to your right (if you are right handed). Watch your elbow break cover before you get a sight picture. Watch your elbow explode as I put a round through it. Watch your arm fall to the ground, as you fall forward, and observe the lights going out as I put one in right under your nose. In airsoft, you are 100% correct, chicken wings are fine. In the real world, you'd better hope they come with hot sauce or a medic, because they get you killed. Quote:

In a CQC environment, no wings means no knocking into corners, partners or anything else. You can slide around a corner easier with our elbows down, and it makes you an overall smaller target.
