TM m4 system and 11.1V battery
I have a TM m4s system and CM028
I am just wondering will it damage both gearboxes with 11.1V battery at burst? thanks for the help |

It will most likely explode with that powerful a battery. But I'm new so let's see what other people say.

I think of you just do a quick search on this forum, you'll find multiple answers to your question.
But in any case, I'm going to assume that your guns are stock. If so, 11.1V IS going to kill your internals (sooner rather than later). For my S-system I use 8.4V 600 mAh since I'm usually conservative in my shooting. You could always get a battery with a higher mAh if you want to dramatically increase the # of shots (not ROF) you can get without damaging your AEGs. Also, 9.6V would probably be the highest voltage you'd 'safely' want to put in a stock gun, but you'll probably need to upgrade your gears and bushings in the future. It also depends on how you shoot your gun. If you do semi all the time, your gun will last longer. On full-auto using a higher voltage battery, your internals are going to wear out quickly. Although on 11.1V, I don't think this theory will apply.

Without reinforced internals, your mechbox will explode in short order. Also, you will burn out your stock trigger contacts without a MOSFET switch. Finally, your motor will tend to wear out very quickly (unless you like the newer Systema, Guarder, or G&P motors, which seem to like the higher voltage).
You can't simply drop a LiPo into your gun and be good to go; it doesn't work that way. EVERY internal part pretty much needs to be replaced with something reinforced.

The first part of your gearbox to get ripped to shreds will be your piston. You'll need to balance the cranking speed with a stronger spring.
As a note: Most experienced tuners recommend no higher than an 8.4v 1700mAh (sub-C) battery for bone stock guns. I see absolutely no need to go up to 11.1v if your internals aren't reinforced. ... or unless you're looking for a reason to replace busted parts. I'm more curious as to why you're using Quaestor's avatar... lol

Like I just said to someone else; the guns are designed for 8.4 volts by the engineers at the factory. If you choose to second guess them, well, the laws of physics and electricity will not change.
If, on the other hand, you are rich enough to afford spare parts galore, go for it. |
