8.4v Battery Carrying A 120 Mps Spring, is there a real problem with this?

I recently bought a CA SLR compact type AEG made with wood parts.
now, I see that the largest battery that I can fit in, is a panasonic 8.4v 3000 mah
I recently put in a gaurder 120 mps spring, that for some reason chrono'd at 135 at first check. maybe because of spring guide..
anyway, I was told that its not good to put a 8.4v battery to support such a strong spring, yet its the only one thats strong enough, and small enough to do the job, while keeping the battery in the buttstock.
I searched long and hard, and I don't think I have yet found a 9.6v battery that will fit in the buttstock, and still pull the spring.
the panasonic I have at the moment is around 15 cm long.

so, is it true I should find a different battery, a 9.6v? or is it ok to use the 8.4v 3000 mah?

The 8.4 volts should be plenty. Most of us are familiar with Feet Per Second, are you using meters?
Can you update your user profile too? It may help us locate resources for you if we dont have to guess at your location/age/etc.

I get my resources from Redwolf or Uncompany
yeah, I use mps. meter = 3.3 feet. so 120 mps is 400 fps.

Running a SP120 on 8.4v should not cause problems. If you have problems with the motor not being strong enough to pull the sprin, eigher get a stronger motor (Systema Magnum) or get a gear set with a different ratio, like systema torque up or laylax/prometheus dobble torque. Choosing the last option will however cause your ROF to drop.

I have a Systema M120 in my AUG, and run it with a 1500mAh 8.4v battery and it works very well.

I'm running an M120 systema spring, with a Standard ratio gear set on 8.4 and 7.2 but the only difference is that I'm using a torque up motor.

You know that you could simply get a 8.4v 4500mAh pack (from intellect let's say)

It would crank that fairly enought.

Got a Star G36K... running on 7.2v 4500mAh...No problems at all (dunno what spring, but I hit 340 steady)

Voltage is only one component to any battery, your mah also just as heavily influences what the battery can or can't do. Don't listen to people who tell you that 8.4v is too little for a M120, because odds are if they didn't even mention anything about the mah, they don't know what they're talking about.

I rock a systema m120 with an 8.4v 1400mAH and havent had any problems yet. I recently moved up to using 9.6v 1400mAH and have not had any issues either. My new 9.6v look like this.



While my old 8.4 volt look like the above with out the 3rd shorter battery.
