Broken CASV Handguard
I finally recieved my CASV handguard that customs was kind enough to hold for a week. Problem is they managed to break a piece off.
At the rear of the handguard before the rail, there is a semi circle piece that I assume fits in the delta ring. My question for CASV owners is, does this piece need to be there? I mean the CASV bolts to the rail on the upper reciever, so does this piece do anything improtant. I have some glue for metal, can I just glue it together and put it on? Or is this a load bearing piece? Thanks. |

I am assuming mine is DBoys, or however its spelt. I have epoxy'd it back together, and it seems to be doing okay, just a little scared it'll fall apart and I'll end up losing it... Oh and for the record, customs had mine for over 16 days

I am pretty sure the DBoys was Cast and not CNC'd

More fragile than a one piece unit.
I suggest you to get the proper Loctite metal glue, if I remember correctly is 304 and 414 activator (I could be wrong as we don,t use these often at work). We did some test with this glue and it took 1ton from an hydraulic press to make the piece come off.

The "U" shape ring is not really necessory. I have asked DBoy for a couple of replacements.

Thanks for the info. Seems to be alot of people with the DBoys version have the same problem.
Huang, if you get some replacements pieces let me know. Meantime I will epoxy it back together and hope it holds. |
