pistonhead to piston ?GAP?

Hey I'm upgrading the mechbox and after I screwed the piston head to the piston, I noticed a few millimeters of play. I can pull the piston head away from the piston. That can't be normal. I was going to add a few spacers to make the piston fit tight against the piston head.

suggestions and thanks.

Did you hold down the piston head with a cloth or tissue while you screwed the screw in? Because it can probably go in a bit more

It screws in to the point where if I screw it more it might snap the black spacer. Very tight. I think I'll just add another washer to fill the gap from the inside of the piston. I just wanted to check that the gap is not normal, just in case it was some carzy new airsoft invention that I had not heard of yet.

edit ok I got it used a fat washer from the inside. problem solved.

Thats very strange how there is that gap.
Im wracking my brain and I cant think of any means that that should happen.
Unless it just happened that maybe the piston wasnt threaded deep enough or the screws to long, or maybe the bearings are to thick causing everything to not line up and sit cosure.

Might be because there are mix and match parts. I got a cylinder kit back in Aug and I vaugely remember a part or two was missing so the seller added his spare parts. But its nice and tight now.

where is the plastic/metal bushing that fits in the bearing?

its the red part in this picture.

* just noticed that part in the second pic (black part).

try assembling it with out the piston body.
the red bushing (the black one you got) should sit flush and tight to the back of the piston head when the screw is fully tightend, if not then the screw is too long and you'd just need to cut it shorter.

the black spacer fits in the washers and bearings no problem. I think the black spacer is just a bit long. Anyhow the problem was solved with the addition of another spacer (meant to say washer). Oh I tried it without the piston to figure out where the extra gap was occuring. The black spacer was a tad long. I wonder if piston front walls come in different thicknesses?

i dont think its the back spacer. if it was too long then you would have more play with the washer and bearings and not have a loose piston head.
only thing i can think of is that the screw it a bit long and doesnt let the black spacer sit tight on the face of the brass on the back of the piston head. it better the have some play with the bearing and spacer then installing an extra bushing.
