Big-Out nub: black or white?
I have googled, Ive searched ASF, and ASC, but I have yet to find any information on what the 2 styles of h-nubs are supposed to be used for. I understand the principle behind the 2 points of contact, but I dont understand the difference in the thickness of said contact points. Can anyone explain this?
If you haven't seen them, they look like this. The left one is the black nub, the white one is on the right (not that it matters). I sure would appreciate any information on this |

The white nub with its thinner walls results in less hop, because the two thin walls 'squeeze' the hopup sleeve less than two thick walls. More room in between and all. The white nub is suited for low to moderately powerful guns. The black one is suited for more powerful guns. I believe there are a number of threads on this over Arnies airsoft.

Thanks The Saint!! That makes good sense, and seems obvious all of a sudden. I have heard that the Arnie's forum contained threads about the h-nubs, but I was never able to find them (I did look). And to be quite honest, I do not hold Arnie's forum in very high regards. Im sure they have their share of gurus, but they have a high ratio of uneducated-yet-insistent posters.
Now if I can just figure out how to install that sucker haha. Ive got a loop of thread running through a tube from a silicone spray can, and the loop snugged around the nub to hold it in place. Im not real sure its going to fit. But I digress from my own topic :P Thanks again for your help, The Saint! |
