PDI PTW barrel

Was curious to see what other PTW users thought about the new PDI barrels being sold. Do you think they are worth upgrading too?

Shit, I'd be interested in hearing more about these too.. I don't know much about PDI.. I was told their internal upgrades kinda suck, though..

Hmmm third post down on this thread shows some target shooting with stock barrel and PDI. It looks like with PDI you get a much tighter grouping.

I'm down. Wouldn't mind knowing prices, though.

The regular M4 one is ~12K yen, so you're looking at maybe $150-175 each in Canada if there's a group order. It's 304 stainless steel though... not often you see that used in airsoft whatsoever. Not sure what possible benefits you get in a barrel application over brass though.

I'd be interested in whether their tests were conducted with the older, larger ID PTW barrels or with the newer 6.04mm barrels. It's a shame they didn't touch on the hop-up assembly while they were it at.

As it happens, I'm working on a PDI parts order. Is there much interest in these barrels? I was planning on getting some, but perhaps I should start a preorder instead of blindly ordering some.

Umm, what's "libration"?

Lol,

Outer diameter is 10mm, it controls libration and gives more accuracy
Ah, ok I found it:

Looks like the new barrel gives more accuracy by controlling the moon's orbit somehow. LMFAO

My next project is building an SPR so I am definitely in the market for an M16 length inner barrel. Was going to get one from DOFF on the PTW users group but if this is cheaper and just as good I will go for that instead.

Keep in mind that the doff barrel has a revised hopup chamber that's supposedly halfway decent.

You might want to consider this before you plunk down the money on the PDI barrel.

Remember, a barrel is only so good as its hopup unit.

Anyone know what Doff does to the hop-up? I got some new roller packings and the cushions off him. What else does he change?
My PDI barrel (509mm) will be delivered tomorrow and I should get it out this weekend. It will be interesting to see how it performs.
I'd have gone for a Doff barrel but it's twice the price!! Then again you can get any tightbore diameter you want with his barrels.
