Gotta be a better hop-up system?
My M15A4 has a M150 spring with a fully upgraded mech box and a magnun motor - so needless to say it fires hot. The current hop-unit unit is shyt. The groupings are all over the place and when you finally get it dialed in, it backs it self off and is totally useless again. Is anyone making a metal hop-up unit with METAL GEARS? Something that doesn't back-off and provides a consistant hop?

Pro-Win.
But if you can't afford that, then get a Prometheus NEO chamber along with the Strike chamber. It is the only other aftermarket Armalite-style hop up unit that is specifically designed to prevent the backing-off of the hop-up adjustment. Oh, guess what? I have those items for sale! Prometheus NEO Metal Chamber for Marui M16A2 / M4A1 series Fits all standard AEG M4A1, SR16, M16A2, M16A1, M16VN, XM177E2, CAR15, M4 S-System, etc. Some modification required if fitting on to plastic receiver. - O-Ring improves air seal between magazine and feed tube - New Barrel Lock holds barrel in place. - New Barrel Ring stabilizes barrel in hop up chamber Brand new - comes in retail packaging Price: $55 Qty: 1 Buy this with the First Factory Strike Chamber for only an extra $25 and get these added benefits: - O-Ring stabilizes adjustment wheel to prevent it from de-tensioning - Helps to maintain your hop up level from the beginning of your game day till the end. - Wider adjustment range provides much more accurate and precise hop up adjustments First Factory Strike Chamber Replace original Hop Arm for more stable hop up setting, preventing weakening of hop up during operation. Brand new in packaging Price: $25 - special price only when purchased with the Prometheus NEO Metal Chamber! Qty: 1

SystemA or King Arms metal hopup units are supposed to be really nice, still plastic gears though. The Armalite hopup unit is shit overall, just a really crappy design regardless of how you look at it. Only real option is to get a pro-win mechbox with integrated hopup.

If your using an M150 you'll also need a tougher hopup rubber, CA rubbers are more designed for use under 400fps. That prometheus red rubber would do a world of good

Cool - I was thinking about the red rubber. I just need a hop-up unit that will stay consistent and won't back off. I'm gonna try a prometheus or king arms unit with a red rubber.

put a shim under the adjustment nob screw to tighten it up more.. will be a bit harder to turn but once set it will never move.. a shit load cheaper than a $55 hopup.. the King Arms Hopup is a good buy too..

If you're not already shooting 0.28g BBs or heavier, you might want to. I don't know what a M150 cranks out, but heavier BBs will dramatically help with your grouping. Add that to the aftermarket hopup people suggested, all your problems should go away.

Really? My UMP is shooting 310 and I use .25s with better performance than .2s
Although common, I haven't had a problem with my hopup unit backing off since I tightened the screw holding the gear on. The G&P chamber is good but their barrel clips are abnormally weak. |

The king arms hop up http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=514
The barrel clip on this is a bit of a bitch to get on. Once it is on though it holds really damn tight. The orings also help with airseal. I noticed a 30fps difference from stock once it was installed 320fps-350fps. Tip. Their adjustment knob screw is kinda shitty. keep your old one around just incase lol.

I had a Laylax/First Factory 150SP in my CA M24 (I know, different gun, but same 150 value attached to the spring) and with a 6.03mm x 515mm tightbore, and bearing spring guide, I was shooting 515fps with 0.20g BBs. I also upgraded a G&P SPR with a 150 spring and it ended up around 490fps.
